Community Quilts from Lori

I have two great quilts from Lori to share with you today. If you are new or don’t remember, Lori finishes quilt tops and donates them to Share House a facility that helps people overcome addiction.

Lori writes:
Just look at this beauty from Adele in Utah that measures 71” x 81″.

The fabric is so pretty with pieced and appliqué blocks.

When I was deciding how to quilt it, I took a cue from the border fabric.  My quilting design is very similar to the print in the red border.  The quilting had lots of backtracking and that created a lovely shine to the quilting.

Adele did a beautiful job putting this quilt together and included the backing (pretty ladybugs) and binding.  Thank you, Adele!

Some fortunate gal from Sharehouse is going to love this bright, cheerful quilt.”

This lovely springy quilt was sent to me by Sandra B.

The fabric is much prettier and brighter than it shows in this photo.  This quilt measures 62” x 98” and will fit a twin bed perfectly.

Sandra included a couple of different backings and binding for me to choose from.

The quilt is “Bee” themed, so I chose a yellow thread to quilt a meander design which lets the fabric shine.  I just love the backing fabric also, it reminds me of fabric from a “few” years ago.

Thank you Sandra, someone from Sharehouse will surely love this quilt.

Thank you Sandra and Jo for providing me the opportunity to share quilts with Sharehouse

That was fun…two VERY different quilts yet I love them both!! I love the bolder sampler quilt and the soft blended looking quilt. It’s so fun to see them both in one post! Great work Adele, Sandra, and Lori. These are going to bring great comfort to the people who receive them. I believe the quilts are a great reminder to them of the commitment they made when they took the step to a new life.

Two beautiful quilts from first block to finish. Wherever they find a home, many thoughts and good wishes accompany the quilt for those who receive them. A host of people in the background make these quilts come together . So glad you have a place in coordinating these efforts. Thanks again to the stitchers who make these quilts happen.

  2. Both quilts are very pretty, but I have to admit that the red and white one really stands out – beautiful!!

  3. Both lovely and beautifully made quilts. Thanks for all the work you do to help others. Bless you all!
