Community Quilts from Lori

Every time a blog reader sends a larger quilt top to me, I immediately think of Cheryl and Lori.  Both of them finish quilts that are single sized or larger.  Both of them do wonderful work and I appreciate their enthusiasm to help others in need.

This top went to Lori and look at the great job she did!

Lori writes:
Good Morning.

This was a twin size quilt top that you sent to me to finish.  It is a beautiful quilt.

I believe “Thimbleberries” fabric was used.   I remember purchasing Thimbleberries fabric many years ago, and I still love it today!

This quilt has very nice blocks with a lovely border.

Whoever made it sent the binding along with it.  Thank you!

That made my job so much easier, I don’t think I could have come up with a fabric to match.

I was a little bit stumped when…

looking in my stash for a backing, this was the best I could do, now that it is sewn into the quilt, I love it.

I tried to do the best I could with what I had to work with and I think this works!

I think quilts just come to life once they are quilted and bound.

This quilt is a stunner.

Thank you to whoever made and donated this top and binding, thank you.  And thanks to Jo for passing it on to me to finish.”

All the quilts that Lori finishes are passed on to Sharehouse.  They are a facility that helps people learn to deal with dependency issues.  It’s a great cause and I’m so happy, this quilt will help someone on their way to recovery.

Big shouts out to the quilt top maker and of course to Lori.   If you have twin-sized quilt tops you’d like to donate, contact me and I can get you in touch with Lori.

  1. WOW! Beautiful quilt. Everybody did wonderful work and somebody will appreciate this special quilt. Thank you all for your generosity!

  2. Lori and her anonymous quiltmaker did a great job with this quilt. Perfect backing choice considering the time gap between the making of the top and the finishing of the quilt! The blue floral really worked well.

I love that quilt! The colors and layout are gorgeous. I would almost guarantee you would have to search for any mistakes in that quilt. It is absolutely gorgeous. Anonymous quilter it’s an A #1. Lori you did a fabulous job quilting it and the backing works. How it does puzzles me. Jo you do know what to send to whomever. Congratulations all.

    1. Carol. I am proposing this question to blog readers in my next “Ask Jo”. I didn’t know the answer and am hoping someone else might.
