Community Quilts from Laurie

Laurie sent some quilt finishes to share.  Laurie always does wonderful work and I enjoy seeing it.

The dinosaur quilt top was made by Annie of Vashion Island.  Annie is a prolific charity quilter that loves helping others.  The quilt finishes at 73″ x 93″.  People often ask me what size of quilts are needed for donation.  Truly, this is a great size.  This and the others will be donated to Kids in Transition, a homeless youth program in Laurie’s state.

You can see that Laurie did some custom quilting on this.

Isn’t it the perfect quilt for a charity quilt?  You can see that the fun dinosaur print was left in bigger pieces to let them shine and to make it quicker to sew.

Laurie used this mottled tan for the backing.  It makes her beautiful quilting hard to see.  Luckily we can see the quilting from the top.

Next up is the …

Hearts Quilt finishing at  49 1/2” x 56 1/2”.  I believe the Cresco Ladies made this one.

Each of the blocks got its own special treatment.  Just wonderful.

What pretty work is in the sashing and in the alternate blocks.

You can see the wonderful work as you look at the backing print.

The checkerboard Square 50” x 70”

It was very nicely sewn by Nancy H of Vancouver, WA with fabric donated by Julie B. Nancy wanted to use up all of the beautiful coordinating fabric so added a strip to the matching backing that she included.

Didn’t it turn out great??

Can you see the pretty floral motif in the printed blocks?

If you look at the backing you can see it there!!  Great work Laurie.

I’m so impressed by the donated tops and the work that Laurie did.  I hope the recipients of these three quilts are comforted by these great quilts.  THANKS everyone.

    1. Also, thanks to Annie, Nancy and the Cresco Ladies, Laurie wouldn’t be able to finish these quilts without your help and donations.
