Karin has been busy, and today she’s sharing her progress on the recent community quilt tops she’s received.

Gooood Friday morning Jo! So glad to hear the recent medical update….seems the Good Lord wants you to enjoy life even longer. Proof that the good work you do and the communities you serve get to benefit some more!!
Along those lines, I am absolutely convinced that Karen H, from Nebraska, has a money tree (fabric bush) in her back yard, and some sort of a space/time machine, where time stands still for her and housework and other chores are miraculously completed, while she quilts to her heart’s content. Between what she sends to me, and what Ray gets, that’s a whole quilt guild’s monthly production!! So, saying that, here are the first two of today’s lineup of SIX! And these aren’t little, either! They are laying on tiles of 2 x 2, so they’re all a MINIMUM of 4 x 4, with some at 5 x 5!!
First we have the adorable pink and green, square in a square. It is backed by the softest of baby pink flannel. And, the other is H blocks, where the fabrics are all so sweet! And varied! How does one even accumulate such variety?? Polka dots of all sizes and colors, geometrics, even bugs! This one was backed in a calming blue.

Here we can all admire the simplicity and beauty of alternating but coordinating squares. The blue print has Itty bitty sunflowers that are set off nicely by the yellow blender. It is nicely backed by a deeper blue.

His partner brightens livens things up with another humongous stash busting riot of color in a simple rail fence pattern. Again, a variety of fun, child-size prints were used, and would you look at that fun backing? More strips of fun colors and prints, fleshed out by adorable and colorful cowboy hats and ropes! And all the corners meet up exquisitely! I could never!
And here we are at the end of today’s parade….again, with totally matching points (how?), in a very simple, but extremely fun, checkerboard of colorful blocks, set off by white ones. Where in the world does such variety come from? Backed by colorful blocks of various pinks and polka dots.

Next to him is one that will surely be fought over! Sharks!!!! Other fishes too, but, SHARKS!! And, of course, there is water for the back! And, to top it off, blue and orange are the local college team colors! Absolutely perfect!

These are all going down to the women’s shelter, as soon as my cabinet painter guy gets what he needs and gets gone!
Karen, thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart, and the depths of my sewing room! These will all comfort and bless those that are in crises we can’t even imagine. Jo, thank YOU, for facilitating this connection! Blessings to all…
Thanks so much, ladies…these quilts are fabulous. I love Karen’s color choices…and I love Karin’s ability to make the quilts shine. What fun quilts, I am sure that will be appreciated and loved. Great work!!

Wow – Karen has been busy! What a great collection!

Thanks to ALL who contribute in some way to community quilt projects. And to Jo who inspires us all so much. So much of this is needed in today’s chaotic world we are living in.
Beautiful quilts! Is there a place on your blog or website that has the contact info for your different finishers? I’d like to contact one or more and donate towards buy them some batting or other supplies. Thank you. Hugs,
