Community Quilts from Karen R

I have quilts to share with you today from a new Karen. We have Karin and Karen Sue who already do quilts..now we have Karen R. Thanks so much Karen for volunteering to finish some of the charity quilts. Your help is so appreciated. Happily, Karen volunteered to finish even more quilt tops!! If any of you would like to jump in and volunteer please contact me at rogjok@iowatelelcom.net. I always have more quilts than volunteers so don’t feel like you’ll be cheating anyone out of quilt tops…there are plenty!

Karen writes:
These will be going to The Gary Stevens Project and will probably find their way to the veterans at the Chillicothe VA.

Thank you so much, I enjoyed quilting these.

I believe all of these were made by the Cresco Ladies…This one is an orphan block quilt. I remember that fabric from the in-between sashing strips. I’m betting one of you donated that and I passed it on to the Ladies.

This backing is much like the top…an orphan block user.

Here is a simple fun one.
Here is the backing…

Here is one perfect for a vet or Americana lover.

Karen picked out some great quilting motifs that complement the quilts well.

What a fun backing on this one…I just love it. Oh, I’d love to find this fabric.

This is a great example of what a good quilting motif can do. Overall, this is a pretty simple quilt but the great border print and the textured quilting motif really come together to make the simple quilt look great!

Here is another fun one with sailboats.

It is so bright and cheery with the added bonus of having a fun backing fabric.

As you can see, Karen was a busy bee. Together the Cresco Ladies and Karen made some quilts that would be perfect for donating and making hearts happy. Thanks for your work ladies. I’m so happy to be on your team.

If anyone has backing fabric, I’m sure Karen would love some. You can contact me for her address. Many-many thanks to Karen for volunteering.
