Community Quilts from Joey

Joey is at it again…finishing lots more community quilts. That girl is busy. Her last batch of quilts featured a lot of Christmas quilts…no Christmas ones this time.

Joey writes:

These are all donated to SWCAP.
This is a lovely paisley patterned fabric. The shadow boxes
set it off so well. I added the black & red backing from Kenda T in WI and did an overall paisley motif in the quilting.

This picture is a bit washed out. It’s a lovely peachy rust, with the green garden flowers as opposite blocks, I used a tie-dye fabric from my stash & quilted it with swirls & curls.

This small improv quilt is so interesting. Cats peeking out of everywhere. I added a flannel mustard-colored fabric for the backing. Quilted with all different sizes of circles.

This cupcake lap quilt is darling, I did an overall meandering, the backing was the right color with the saying “Welcome, the door is always open” from the donation box.

I’m so drawn to the square in a square pattern, it uses all the scraps… I quilted several sizes of circles.

 Backing from the donated fabrics.

Love this purple double courthouse steps quilt, I used up a few purple pieces from different previous quilt backings & kept going with circles to soften it.

Great work everyone. THANKS so much!! Joey didn’t say, but I think these were likely from the Cresco Ladies.

I’m with Joey and love square-in-square quilts. I don’t know what it is, but I’m very attracted to them. All of these quilts are so nice.

  1. All are very pretty quilts! Thank you, Joey, and the other makers for your donations. I also like the square in a square pattern.

  2. Hi Jo
I know it’s kind of late in the season to ask but if any of your readers have scraps of fabric- Christmas or other types they could part with and send my way. Crumbs are fine. As I’m building the patches to work for other projects. The quilts are very nice Joey. 2024 is my year to finally contribute as I had hoped to. I did create a quilt for my 46 Class reunion. Just getting past the flu in our home. But the need for blankets will always be there. We moved to north Texas so my address had changed. And I also wanted to wish you Jo a Very Happy Birthday coming up- May your day be Blessed with many Good Things. Thank you again for sharing your talents with us- it helps to inspire one another. Blessings to all this season,
