Community Quilts from Celesta

Celesta has been busy.  You might remember that her along with a group of ladies from her church were busy making and donating baby quilts to a Woman’s Health Clinic in Tanzania.  When Covid hit, the organization they work with, halted shipments and still hasn’t started back again.  In the meantime, Celesta found a new place to donate their wonderful quilt tops.

Celesta writes:
MaryAnne in Perkasie, Pa is quite prolific and so generous. Here are some more of her creations that will go to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. We’re still waiting on being able to ship to Tanzania, but Children’s is so happy, and act as if it were Christmas when we show up with our bags of baby and children’s quilt. The stories the volunteers tell of the excitement of the kids receiving the quilts is so heartwarming and even though the quilts aren’t going to where they were first intended, they are being received and loved by some well-deserving little ones who are going through serious illnesses. Here is an assortment of different styles and colors ready for the little ones to snuggle in.

This next batch has one of my favorite quilts… the one with the town on the hillside, maybe it’s the cows in the pasture that do it, having grown up on a dairy farm. And what kiddo wouldn’t love a dinosaur quilt?

And speaking of cows, an anonymous donor gave the cow fabric used as backing for the brown and green quilt. The dalmatians and the assorted kid’s blocks on the colorful quilt are also going to delight a little one.

And some more fun quilts made out of an assortment of fabrics and colors, and fun designs. Maryanne is so creative in using up fabrics.

And lots of purples, one of my favorite colors.

Thank you so much, MaryAnne and our anonymous donor, the kids are going to be delighted.”

WOW!!  That was a big bunch of special quilts.  I can see why the staff of the hospital are so happy to Celesta come with the wonderful quilts.  Many thanks to everyone who put time into making these quilts…and making kids smile!  What a great group of people!!
