Betty is a “newer to the group” quilt finisher. She’s here today to share the quilts she finished.

“Hi Jo! I have three completed charity quilts to show you today. These were made by the Cresco Ladies and you sent them to me to be completed.  The first I am calling the Llama Quilt.Â

I quilted it with a circle meander using a variegated brown and tan thread.

The backing is a cute singing horse print that was provided by my local quilt guild’s stash. I used fabric from my stash for the binding and for the batting, I used pieces that I sewed together. The quilt measures 36 x 41.

The second quilt, I named Wonder Woman. The Cresco Ladies did a great job of coordinating the fabrics with the Wonder Woman Fabric. This quilt measures 48 x 65.

I quilted it with a patriotic star meander in Red.Â

The Red/Yellow fabric came from the quilt guild stash and I added some yellow/red calico from my mothers stash (that I inherited many years ago). It is great to use up some of that fabric. The batting was again pieced together and the binding came from my stash.

The third quilt is a whole cloth cute monkey print bordered in black. So simple and yet so cute. It measures 42 x 56.Â

I quilted it with a Firefly motif in black.

I found a Zebra print fabric at Hobby Lobby on sale for $2.00 a yard that I felt was just perfect for this quilt. I also used the same print for the binding and again used batting pieces.Â

These quilts will be given to a local group that works with foster children. I am sure they will be loved by the children that receive them.”
Betty did a great job on these. For me, it’s always such a great feeling to get quilts finished. I’m sure Betty is enjoying that feeling now. Better yet is dropping them off at the place they will be donated to…It sounds like Betty has a very worthy cause. Many thanks to those who made the tops…I’m guessing it’s the forever-prolific Cresco Ladies!! Thanks so much everyone!!
Such nice quilts and beautifully quilted. Thank you Betty and the Cresco ladies for diligently providing such nice quilts for such a wonderful cause.
It’s so nice to have finishers for the quilts made by so many people and then to be able to donate quilts to those in need. Quilters are a great bunch of people.
Great job, Betty! And welcome!
I know kids will be thrilled to get these awesome quilts! Have a wonderful week!
