Community Quilts from Ray and Celesta

I have more community quilts to show you.  I have some from Celesta and the Tanzania quilter ladies and I have one from Ray.

I’ll start with quilts from Celesta.  She writes:

“And here are some more baby quilts ready to go to Tanzania, with a big apology to Charlotte in Helena, OK. I thought we were making head ways, when I discovered your quilt tops Charlotte, that somehow got covered up, but the good news is they are discovered and finished. This one is bigger than we usually get, and we are limited with being able to use larger ones.

Paula says she will put to use whatever we send, but does prefer the smaller baby quilts to give to mothers after they leave the birthing center with their new little ones. Charlotte used a simple pattern, but I love the design, and what a perfect way to use up leftover fabric.”

“And if you’re not in the Christmas spirit yet, here you go. Charlotte had an ingenious idea and used a panel for a children’s book to make this Christmas quilt. What a neat idea for a book panel, and having a kiddo or grandchild ask to have their quilt read to them.”

These last quilts are baby quilts and really pretty. They are bright and colorful, and what child wouldn’t love cuddling with these.”

And now a quilt from Ray…

Ray writes:  “Ready for a bit of Spring? I am and it is not even winter yet. Oh well. This quilt will be sure to warm you up. The top was created by Gayle.

Everything about it says, Be happy, it’s Spring. It made me feel good the whole time I was working on it. The design of the top was so exciting that I could not detract from it. So I used white thread. I know, understated the quilting again. However, the dark pink backing that Gayle provided made the white thread quilting POP.
I just love the total quilt. This one is going to Guardian ad Litem and I am positive it will put a smile on some girl’s face for many days. Thanks to Jo and Gayle for the flimsy and backing.”
