Charity Quilts: Ronda and Janelle strike again!

Ronda and Janelle are at it again.  They make a great tag team accomplishing MUCH.  Janelle made up 8 tops and forwarded them on to Ronda who finished them.

Ronda writes:
I have two more finishes for you ~ the last two from the box of eight sent to me by Janelle R. in Pasadena, MD.  These last two tops are flannel, so I backed them each with a plush or velour blanket that I picked up last spring when all the winter things went on sale. I didn’t have anything in mind when I bought them, but they were the right size and right colors for these two flannel quilts.  They will be perfect for the Ronald McDonald House ~ nice and cuddly and warm for use with our cold Iowa winters.  Thanks again to Janelle for sending me the tops!

Here is quilt #1…what a simple idea but cute…RIGHT???

The purple back for it is perfect!!  Ronda’s quilting really made the quilt sing.  I love it.

This is quilt #2…I love the big plus sign in the center..see?

This goes to show that quilts don’t need to be crazy hard to be a nice quilt.  The backing is great too.  I never thought of hitting up the clearance rack in the spring in hope of picking up a couple fleece backings…Great idea for sure.

As Ronda said, these are off to the Ronald McDonald house.  Oh I hope that the quilts can cuddle some warm and happiness into a sick child.

Thanks Ronda and Janelle for your great work!!

  1. Very pretty quilts ladies! I have been buying fleece to back doll quilts. It is so easy to use and is really cheap when you buy the leftovers off a bolt at Joann’s.
