Community Quilts from Ronda

Good news!! I have quilts from Ronda to share with you today.  I have quilts from Paulette too so read all the way to the end to see them all.

First up, quilts from Ronda…Ronda sent three quilts for this post and there will be another post from Ronda on Sunday.  She’s been a busy gal!!

Ronda writes:

The first top was sent to me from Cindy E. of Mansfield, Ohio.

I paired the rainbow-like top with the yellow with black flowers backing that you passed on to me from Carla.

This quilt finished up at 55 X 69 and was donated to Opportunities Unlimited.

I’m not so “Charming”…

Well, I am late but it’s time to report on my Charming Girls Quilt Club.  Since I’m late to report anyway, I’ll give you a peak at the small quilt top I finished.

BluaandGray

This is my quilt top that I finished as part of the Country Threads, Civil War Reproduction Club that I belong to.  The pattern is entitled “Blue and Gray”.  I haven’t decided if this is going to be a wall hanging or what.  It’s just an odd size 40 x 48.  The little Red Cross blocks are so eye catching…fun to make too!

I love the look of it.  The colors are great….just an odd size…my daughter suggested a baby boy quilt…any suggestions?

Back to my Charming Girls report…last month my goals were:

Finish this “Blue and Gray” quilt-Top is done, still not quilted
Finish my “Patchwork Times” mystery quiltStill not quilted
Quilt Kayla’s quilt-WOW, a finish!
Finish the new August Schnibble-WOW, another Finish!
Machine quilt a Moda Bake Shop Quiltstill not quilted
Complete my Crazy Mom Quilt a Long quiltTop is done, still not quilted

…UGH! see what happens when my quilting machine goes to the repair shop…NOTHING!
I did finish the Between Charming Friends Quilt and I started about three more projects….but they weren’t on my goal list!

Apparently, I am not real good at making goals and sticking to them…or in truth, it was the Accuquilt Go! Cutter that made me fail on my Charming Girls List.

accuquilt-1

I have just plain out been having too much fun with my new Go! Cutter.  New dies have come on several different days, and I am just too tempted to not try a few blocks.

Goals for this month…
Two ironing board covers-FINISHED ALREADY
Start Patchwork Times Upcoming Quilt a Long
Work on the new Schnibble-Squares are cut already THANKS to the Go!
Work on TWO secret projects
Check out a new to me project I heard about,  Hazel’s Diary Quilt.

Honestly, this month, I don’t plan on getting much done at all….I have a very BUSY teaching schedule in the upcoming two months.  I will be glad to just get a few minutes of quilting each day.  For those of you who don’t know about my “real” job, I teach continuing education classes for childcare providers.  I also work on my website, www.makinglearningfun.com, it’s an early education website, filled with free printables for teachers and parents of young children.  Feel free to check out the quilting theme section..it’s my favorite.

By the looks of it, I won’t be very “Charming” next month either….UGH….

Before I sign off…here’s a reminder:  Today is the last day to sign up to win the Accuquilt Go! Cutter.  Today is also the last day to sign up to win my trivet kit.  The giveaways close at midnight tonight central time.  The winners will be announced tomorrow.

What I’m working on…..

I don’t really have anything going on a design wall as of now…I have some projects waiting at the quilt machine to be quilted, a couple things waiting for borders and a couple things cut out.

Here is the project I am currently concentrating on …..
WhatWorkingOn

It is the latest pattern from Country Threads’ Reproduction Club.  The pattern is called Blue and Gray.  Like with the other installments I have done the pattern comes in black and white.  I decided to do mine in mostly blues and grays, like the name of the pattern suggests.

This one is by far the easiest of the patterns for the club so far.  No tiny pieces like the first one….no massive amounts of triangles like the second one.  It mainly features nine patches so it should go together fast.

I decided to join Charming Girls group….so my August goals are:
Finish this “Blue and Gray” quilt
Finish my “Patchwork Times” mystery quilt
Quilt Kayla’s quilt
Finish the new August Schnibble
Machine quilt a Moda Bake Shop Quilt
Complete my Crazy Mom Quilt a Long quilt

That sounds like enough…of course I would love to English paper piece some more stars, make a guitar strap for both of my kiddos, quilt my Between Charming Friends, and work on my Crab Apple quilt too but, I’m trying to be realistic.

Don’t forget to check out yesterday’s post if you haven’t.  It’s my entry for the Charming Chatter, Schnibbles Times Two contest….and don’t forget to go over to Charming Chatter to vote.  She is giving away LOTS of great prizes….some for people who vote and some for the quilt makers.
