Over break, I finished the Carolina Christmas Quilt…and I LOVE it.
The backing is a mixture of pieced together fun….When I was putting it together hubby asked why I didn’t just buy enough of the same fabric. Then I explained the cost of fabric and (bless his heart) he said so..for all the work you have put into the top what difference does it make? (isn’t that a guy to keep!) Actually, I have gotten to really enjoy putting pieced backs on quilts. I like making extra blocks so I can pick the ones I like the best. The red fabric is my Alco fabric (Read more about Alco fabric here)
The mystery was lots of fun and I plan to do another of Bonnie’s mysterys in the near future….Speaking of Bonnie, hubby took me to quilt shops while in San Diego and I bought Bonnie’s book Scraps and Shirttails. I just love her friendly hometown writing voice. I am anxiously awaiting the new book Adventures with Leaders and Enders.
Thanks Bonnie for the GREAT mystery!
