I go in streaks. Â I will try several new recipes all at once and then the next week..not a single new recipe. Â Well I tried this one and was in love with it….Hubby is too.
I originally saw the recipe in my Facebook feed and immediately knew I would try it. Â Here’s a link to the original recipe…I modified it to meet our needs though.
They are so yummy.
First…a layer of brownies.
Next…a layer of frosting.
and thena layer of peanut butter, chocolate, rice krispies. Â YUM!!
The original recipe was for a 9×9 pan. Â I doubled it into a 9 x 13 pan.
Here’s what I did. Â I made a batch of homemade brownies. Â Here’s my recipe. Â A box mix will do too….the original recipe uses one. Â Let the brownies cool.
Next a layer of frosting. Â Boughten frosting is fine. Â I made a homemade concoction of mine…Cream cheese frosting.
The original recipe calls for a layer of nuts next. Â Hubby can’t do nuts because of his teeth so I skipped that.
Next I followed the recipe for the topping.
In the microwave I melted
1 Â 1/3 cup creamy peanut butter
3 cups (8 oz) semisweet chocolate chips
Then I added
4 cups crisp rice cereal
I stirred that then layered it over the brownies.
Let this all cool for an hour or so.
These passed the family taste test and we’ll be making these again and again.
Betty Crocker also offers a VERY similar recipe that is gluten free. Â You can find that link here.
Those look fabulous. Here is a web site that I find inspiring when I want to try something new. http://insidebrucrewlife.com/
Bars look yummy, but I want to go back to previous blog posts and it is now hard to figure out how to do that. I like to check out all your posts, but now if I miss one, I can’t see the old ones. Frownie face. Probably I am missing something.
To Linda Smith –
Are you asking how to get back to the main page after you click the “Read more” button?
If so, just hit the backspace key on your keyboard or click the left-facing arrow at the top of your screen on the navigation bar. Hope that helps you.
I thought I was the only person to use ‘boughten’.
