In the mail a couple weeks ago, I got a baby shower invitation. I thought I better get working on something…so I dropped what I was working on and started this.
I LOVE the look and the feel of the blocks. They are made out of men’s cotton shirts….they are SO soft….perfect for baby. The blocks pattern is from Bonnie Hunter’s book Scraps & Shirttails: Reuse, Re-pupose, Recycle! The Art of “Quilting Green”.
These are the same blocks that I have been working on for this project only this time I used blues and greens. So far I am liking the quilt. I have that blue fabric that has just enough in it to make a simple narrow border. I don’t have other plaids in my stash so I think that fabric is the choice.
Well see if I get any more progress on it today. If you want to learn more about making the blocks you can check out this link.
Lucky Baby! I just love it!
Very nice, love the colors.
I do love this one!!!
BEAUTIFUL! I am going to reward myself and purchase both I and II of Scraps and Shirttails; as soon as I finish two UFOs! Binding to sew on tonight is one done; so it won’t be long. Thanks for sharing pictures.
I love Bonnie Hunters books, I’m glad I bought them all! He, he….
You obviously have many more shirts than me though.Nice look for a boy, soft blues with green…Happy Easter from New Zealand!
love the colors and fabrics. Going to be a good looking quilt.
Fun to see it come together. You are doing a great job. Inspirational.

I like the calming affect of the blue. Although it would be ok I think a plaid border wouldn’t be as nice. Looking good. Bonnie/Virginia
It’s wonderful! I love the plaids, stripes and blues & greens — great for a baby, & great as he grows. I am fortunate enough to be going to a BH workshop this coming Saturday, and am really looking forward to it. We are doing Crumbs!!
Just hollar if you need a specific plaid color! I have a BIG stash of them.
