I am a HUGE Karin Slaughter fan. I wait for her books to come out and when they do, I make sure I either buy the book or get on a list to borrow them. When Criminal: A Novel
came out in July, I put it on reserve on with my online library. Two weeks ago, it was finally my turn to get it.
The book is part of series and I would recommend reading the whole series. If you like who-dun-its, these are perfect. I started reading them several years ago. I started with Triptych. I loved it so much, I went back and read the other books she had written. Then the neatest thing happened…the two series came together.
Occasionally I can figure out what happened….occasionally I don’t.
I love the way the books unfold.
In Criminal: A Novel
the latest book, the author has the reader finally getting a better understanding on what happened to the main character Will Trent during his early years. His relationship with his boss is finally explained. All of these new little pieces of information makes me love Will even more. The female lead character is great too…she has the amazing ability to be strong, understanding, professional yet willing to bend a rule.
I recommend the book if you love crime novels…but more than that, I love the series. If you haven’t read any of Karen Slaughter’s novels, start with Triptych. If you love that, go back and read the books from the Grant County Series….I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
Just started reading Triptychs after finishing the Grant County series. Glad to hear that they come together…..a lot of unfinished business in Grant County. Great author…her books really sucked you in!
