I got a note in the mail from a blog reader Christy Mercer.
She writes:
Jo-
I made this for our babysitter who recently graduated form nursing school. She is at our house so much, I had to fib to her the whole time that I was making it for someone else. When she saw me working on it, she just oohed and ahhed over it. She screamed with joy when I gave it to her!
I am a teacher in southeast Kansas, and follow your blog. We live on a cattle ranch and also raise show goats.
Thank you for your time in creating these patterns!
WOW… I love the quilt. The gray is wonderful! I am a little frustrated that I can’t get the photo to turn but the quilt…WOW!
If you don’t recognize the pattern, it’s one from me and Kelli. You can find it in our book Country Girl Modern.
Kelli and I have made the quilt twice…
Here’s the original
and here’s the second one I made.
No matter what coloring I see this in I really like it.
I’m betting there is another one in my future. Kelli saw Christy’s gray version and was tempted to make one. Once Kalissa, my new found quilter, sees the gray version I’m sure she’ll be really excited too…so it seems even if I don’t actually sew one, I’ll end up quilting or binding one.
Thanks so much for sharing Christy. I love it and love seeing our designs come to life through your eyes.
I love it. Is the pattern available somewhere?
I love Christy’s interpretation of your quilt pattern. I have been on the lookout for the perfect gray/grey material with which to make this quilt. It is a color I have very little (if any) in my collection. Good job Christy!
That is still on my list to make. Love it with the grey, but then also love the ones you made. Someday!
