I’m doing a little series of posts that feature old blog posts. I have been going back and looking at them. It’s been fun. I started blogging in June 2009…WOW—over fifteen years. Today, I’m still playing catch-up so today I’m telling you about September of 2014. We were still in the middle or remodeling the house I live in now.
We had some of our quilts that were published in Quiltmaker come home. This was a fun project. I had two jelly rolls…I divided the strips so one set was more of the greens and blues…the other was more of the reds. I made the two quilts from the two jelly rolls. The pattern was published in Quiltmaker.

I thought this would be great for two kids sharing a bedroom to each have a similar but not the exact same quilt. Here is the spread from the magazine.

I can’t find a date for the magazine…but it’s this one.

I had enough leftovers from the two jelly rolls that I was able to make this baby quilt too.

Kelli and I offered a free Table Topper pattern…You can read more about it HERE.

I made this quilt using leftover bonus triangles from another project. The pattern is A Star is Born. You can read more about it and get the free pattern HERE.

The project was fast and fun to make!!
I made a tutorial for making this oversized pincushion. You can find that HERE.

I made a free pattern for this table runner. You can get the pattern and read about it HERE.

I finished my rail fence quilt…You can read about it HERE.

I was working on this quilt at the long arm….

I was battling a mess sewing room.

I finished a community quilt.

This is another community quilt I finished.

I did a throwback Thursday post and showed off my Bubble quilt. You can read about it HERE.

A blog reader shared their finish of one of our quilts. You can read about it HERE.

I shared my thought of having a pet as a child. I shared these two pictures of me from when I was a kid. You can read about it all HERE.

My daughter Kelli and I took a road trip. We were on a photo shoot with our quilts and went to Kansas City. (You can read about the photo shoot HERE) Along the way we stopped at a rug hooking store and a cross stitch shop. I took pictures of two pieces I hoped to someday stitch. Here they are…

I have both charts and have stitched neither. HA! I still love them and would like to stitch them. At that time, I wasn’t stitching but was starting to get the bug to stitch. That has me thinking maybe I should pull one of these charts out and stitch it!!
Our daughter Kalissa got engaged in September of 2014. They look like such babies now.

We were working at the house… I was so excited. It was starting to take shape. I was so excited it was starting to look like the house I hoped for!

I was busy playing architect. This was the original design that was supposed to be my sewing room and upstairs bathroom. I changed it…You can read all about that HERE.

The front porch took shape….

In the picture on the left you can see the addition. The upper three windows are the bathroom and my sewing room. Below is my kitchen.
Every day was exhausting and exciting all at once.

Just for a little reminder…this is what the house looked like when we bought it.

We were still cleaning floor boards…oh what a task!!

I was painting the big gingerbread trim piece…

…and I got my first preview of my sewing room…You can read about it HERE.

Meanwhile at the farm where we lived, I was trying to get this big cabinet stripped. It is now in my kitchen. What a difference. It was truly a labor of love. Kramer and I bought this for $115. It is my pantry.

I knew we were moving in a few months and was doing a pantry challenge trying to use up cans of pumpkin. I had 10 cans as I had gotten them on sale for 35 cents each.
 I made my Pumpkin Roll . Â

I also made this wonderful pumpkin dessert.

I did a little recap of my favorite Apple recipes. You can read about it HERE.
That’s the wrap up from September 2014.

I enjoy looking back with you. What great documentation and memories. Your house was such a huge project and you had a vision. You were a busy wife and mom.
This was fun looking back at your past so long ago. I still marvel whenever I see a picture of your house when you bought it and the beauty it is now. You really had a great vision what it could be and with so much hard work, make it a reality. Also fun seeing the quilts from then.
Your house fits you now. Your vision of what you dreamed it could be when you first bought it was perfect.
Do you have plans with your and Arnie’s families for the weekend?
2014 sure was a busy time for you and your family! I love seeing the pictures of before and now, what a transformation. Your home is a real beauty.
That was a great month!!!
