I’m doing a little series of posts that feature old blog posts. I have been going back and looking at them. It’s been fun. I started blogging in June 2009…WOW. Over fourteen years. I’m so glad I’ve kept the blog as a diary of sorts…today I’m telling you about things I was working on in June of 2013.
Like most Junes, June of 2013 had me doing all sorts of things but not a lot of time was spent at the sewing machine.
Kelli was busy making a jelly roll fence quilt. You can find a link to the free pattern HERE.

A blog reader sent this quilt and I finished it. You can find the free pattern and more info HERE.

I finished a charity quilt top from a blog reader. You can read more about it HERE.

I finished one of my all-time favorite quilts. This is Labor Day Madness. This quilt is still regularly used on my bed. You can read more about it HERE. This one had been a UFO for a bit. I was out of fabric but the gals at Forest Mills Quilt shop were a great help!

I had leftovers from a quilt and put them together to make a baby-sized quilt. You can read all about that HERE.

Blog readers had sent me some quilt tops. I finished them both up and donated them to tornado victims. You can read about them HERE.

Kelli was hosting a Pieceful Nights Quilt Along and guess what? She never finished the quilt. She has passed to me. I am hoping to add it to my UFO list and finish it next year. You can read about it HERE.

I was busy working on a double wedding ring quilt for my son’s wedding. Sadly they later divorced…but he got the quilt!!

I had a fun story about a box of fabric that was donated to me. A blog reader saw the Beatles fabric in the box and asked me if I would send it to her.

I did and she made this quilt for a new baby in her life. The parents were big Beatles fans. You can read the whole post HERE.

I was busy making cookies. Nowadays I make more cookies than ever as they are easy for me to dish out to all the grandkids. I included my BEST EVER chocolate chip cookies!! You can find the recipe HERE.

I wasn’t the only one making food. My daughter Kelli was too. She shared her Strawberry Pretzel salad. Oh that sounds so tasty about now!! You can find the recipe HERE.

I was busy making Strawberry Rhubarb Jam. Here is the recipe.

Here were my girls from 10 years ago. We were living at the farm. Kalissa is on the floor with my dog Ruby, Kelli is holding her dog Puppycat and Kayla is in the back with her dog Tony. Sadly both Ruby and Tony have passed away.

I say this every month when I do a blast for the past…I just love going back and seeing things from 10 years ago. I’m so glad I’m a blogger.
Your other post “Meet Sadie” was corrupted so I couldn’t read it.
Gobbledygook on the foster pup post tonight on my iPhone. Both from the link in the digest and from my bookmark. I’m anxious to meet her. Hopefully tomorrow.
Meet Sadie is all bugger up and I am not able to read it.
I can’t read it either . can you resend it?
Post is all code again. This seems to be a frequent issue. I enjoy your blog immensely when I can read it, Hope you can resolve the problem. I look forward to reading your posts daily.
I love reading your Blast from the Past posts! I go back and enjoy all those posts again—so fun! Today I printed that baby quilt pattern—it’s adorable! You should put it on your pattern list.
Hi Jo! I started the Labor Day Madness quilt too! And the sister quilt (who’s name I’ve forgotten right now). They’re both long term UFO’s for me. I pulled them out and am so close to a finish for Labor Day Madness. Loved seeing your version!
All these blog entries seem like yesterday. I like to compare where my life was at during this same time. June 2013 was a difficult time for me and things were only going to get worse but I couldn’t see that then. Your blogs have always been a bright spot in my days.
Sometimes a blog is black with white illegible writing but tomorrow when I try again it will be fine.
