Between Heaven and Texas @ Jo’s Country Junction

Have you been following the blog hop going on for the book, “Between Heaven and Texas” by Marie Bostwick?  I hope so-otherwise you have been missing out on some great book reviews, great blogs, and some fun star block patterns.  If you have missed it, go to the Quilting Gallery where you can get caught up and find out all of the information.

Between Heaven and Texas Blog Hop

Today is our blog hop day!!  Kelli and I  are going to show you our 12″ star block.

When we were putting our block together, we were inspired by two classic blocks, pinwheels and stars.

We spent a lot of time playing with the color placement until we came up with our final block.  Moving or changing colors can really change a whole block.  We made our block using bright colors as we want to send it on to the Linus Connection.  The Linus Connection volunteers are planning to put donated blocks together into a quilts for children.  What a worthy cause!!  You have a chance to help too.  I hope you will make an extra block and send it to the Linus Connection too…after all, lots of blocks means lots of quilts.  You can find the details on where to send your block here.

If you want a copy of the printable pattern to make the block you can find it here.  We so much fun playing with the block that we ended up changing the colors up and designed a table runner with the blocks.  Isn’t it cute??

If you would like a for the pattern for the table runner, you can find that pattern right here.

If you like reading and you like quilting, you are sure to like the book “Between Heaven and Texas”.

Amazon only provided a short synopsis, “In a luminous spin-off to her heartwarming Cobble Court Quilts series, “New York Times”-bestselling author Bostwick delves into the life of one of her readers’ favorite characters, Mary Dell Templeton, and her journey from a Texas ranch to becoming a wife, mother, and celebrated quilter.”    I hate to say a lot more about it as I am afraid to give anything away but I can say that it’s really good.  You can get it here in book form from Amazon,  Between Heaven and Texas (Cobble Court Quilts) or you can get it in Kindle version here Between Heaven and Texas (Cobbled Court Quilts).

If you would like to win a copy of the book, just leave a comment here telling what state you live in.
