My daughter Kelli and I are so excited to be part of the “Between Heaven and Texas” Book Blog Hop.  As you can see from the logo below there are lots of fun things going on.  All the participating bloggers will tell you a bit about the Marie Bostwick’s newest book….we’ll all be providing you with a free star block pattern and we’ll all be hosting giveaways.  You won’t want to miss it!!  Today is the kick off day and the hop will run through Friday, May 10th.

  1. I enjoy your blog; you sound like fun folks!
We have a black lab, Perdita ( we call her Perdy), that enjoys my quilting. I have to use the floor to lay out my blocks, quilts, etc, but I have to be careful. Perdy likes to lay on the unfinished quilts. There was one quilt that when finished, I knew was going on our bed because every time I laid it out to work on it she would flop herself right in the middle. The look she gave me said, “Thanks so much for this quilt! I love it!” My husband said, “Why fight it?” So it adorns our bed and now I can work on others without interference from Perdy because she already has her own.

  2. Love, Love, Love Marie Bostwick was so surprised to see this on your site. Thank you for giving me a chance to be a part of this exciting blog hop.

  3. I have had so many recommendations about Marie’s books but have not read any yet. I need to add that to my list to read soon.

  4. Now who wouldn’t love to have new star blocks to make – quite the extravaganza this new Book Blog Tour and who wouldn’t love to have one or more of Marie’s books? Thanks for entering into the spirit of this tour, great way for many of us quilters to learn about our block designers….

  5. I really like your block and the quilt that you made from it. It’s now on my to-do list! It might just bump a few other projects… Oh, and I don’t have a dog now, but I grew up with dogs. Getting one now wouldn’t be fair to the dog because I’m away from home so much.

  6. We have a black lab, Mona….she has the life..living on a Colorado horse ranch, chasing (and never catching) bunnies, swimming in near by water-holes…and basking in the beauty of the Rocky Mtns!!!

  7. I love, love, love Marie Bostwick’s books! Have been waiting for this new one. My sister gave me “A Single Thread” for my birthday a few years ago-I think that one is the best in the series(I cried). I’ve love the rest of the series too. I think you will like them too!

  8. I read your blog everyday. I really like your block and see it makes up into a really nice quilt pattern. I don’t have a dog now but my son’s dog will run over to our house from where he lives about a mile away every time my son and his family leave. We figure the dog gets lonely and she only runs here and never leaves once she gets here until they come get here. So we decided she thinks this is home too.

  9. Haven’t read any of Marie’s book but now have her on my list of reads. Thank you.
We have an outside dog . Whenever we come out she just knows its just for her!

  10. I’ve read two of Marie Bostwick’s books and have really enjoyed them. I look forward to reading this one too – hopefully soon!

I have a sister to sew with too. We have to sew together via Skype but we love it. I have a sweet, 9 year old golden retriever who was a small sick puppy when we rescued her. She was almost put down but she recovered nicely. The vet told us she would probably never be full sized but she is huge. She is very loved and sleeps inside. I have gone through several vacuum cleaners because of the hair, but I wouldn’t trade her for anything.
Love the picture of you two with your puppies!

i have a very spoiled cat and dog, who make me smile and laugh alot every day.

I just started the Cobbled Court Series of Marie’s Books. I got them all from Audible.com

I love the hops concept but find myself getting drawn in and sewing less. :-(

I enjoyed reading your blog. I wish I could get that book. Looks like a fun book to have with so much treasure in it.
