Beat the Winter Blues Blog Hop and Giveaway

If you are new to the blog…WELCOME!!  I love when new people stop by.  For those of you who are regulars…thanks for hanging out with me!  Today I’m hosting a giveaway as part of the “Beat the Winter Blues Blog Hop” sponsored by the Quilting Gallery.

Beat the Winter Blues - Quilters' Blog Hop Party

I tired to think of something fun to giveaway….I wanted something fun..something cheery so I came up with this!

Giveaway
This is a copy of Quilting Quickly.  It features lots of fun great projects from the gals at Missouri Star Quilt Company.  It’s a great magazine with lots of fun quick projects.

The jelly roll is one of Moda’s latest, “Glamping”.  You can check out all the fabrics in the line here at Fat Quarter Shop.  The line is super cute with lots of bright fun colors that are sure to chase the winter blues away.  I get such a kick out of the name “Glamping”…what is it?  Glamorous camping??

You don’t need to follow my blog or follow on facebook for a chance to win…but you sure can!!  Right now I have 980 facebook followers.  I am going to sweeten the pot.  If I reach 1000 followers by the time the giveaway is over, I will find another set of goodies to giveaway.

If you would like a chance to win..let me know..are you are camper?  I am not.  Anything except my bed or a bed in a hotel just doesn’t cut it for me.  Relaxation to me is a hotel and an hot tub, good food and some antiquing…oh and before you go, check out another giveaway we have going on here.

  1. I’ve camped since I was a little girl (don’t ask how many years!) and just love it. Unfortunately, my hubby of six years doesn’t… :-( Thanks sew much for this chance to win your generous giveaway! :-D

  3. I aren’t really a camper but love going on quilt retreats as at the one I go to you have a bunk and share a room with others. We have had a good summer here in New Zealand but too much today now as son back at school and girls start am Kindy today so this is my time for myself.

  4. I just LOVE when my family goes camping… without me so I can take a bubble bath in peace! I am definitely not a camper ;) Thanks for the giveaway – new follower on fb – congrats on hitting 1000!

  5. Used to think it was fun to go camping as a kid, but not so much now. But if we had one of those nice motor homes I could probably enjoy “camping” again. LOL.
Thanks for the chance to win. BTW truly enjoy your blog and seeing yours and Kelly’s quilts, and Ruby too.

  6. I used to camp a lot. Tent and sleeping bags. No more. But I have a lot of fond memories. Tried to click on FB so I could follow but I couldnt open it. Hmmm!!
Thanks for this fabulous give a way

  7. Love your giveaway, and yes, I’m a camper. We have a motorhome and have travelled across Canada and up to the Yukon and Alaska….with my sewing machine….

  8. I am a camper and backpacker and I love it. I love just being outside and away from noise and crowds. Now I am getting to share the love with my kids. My son’s first camping trip was at 2 months old! Thanks for the chance!

  9. Wow – great prize package… I love the gals over at Missouri Star Quilt Company…. I even subscribe to their youtube channel. The fabric is awesome. Lots and lots of quilters have commented – so the chances are slim – but not problems… I am glad to find your blog!

  10. Jo,
We were great campers when we were kids but I love my creature comforts as an adult- no camping for me now. I do love to go to the mountains and stay in a cabin or hotel.
The fabrics are fun and so is your blog. I am a follower of your blog and your facebook page.
Thanks for the chance to win such a nice prize. I am sure you are going to meet lots of new quilty friends during the hop.
    Regards from Alberta,

  11. I love camping but we use a tent on a trailer (called a camper trailer but there are many different variations). It has a queen mattress on the trailer and room for the children on stretchers on the floor.
PS – you can still camp – just say you will only sleep under 5 stars!!

  12. We go camping once a year with my husband’s family, but this year I will have a 2 week-old baby, so I probably won’t be staying overnight. :) Thanks for a lovely giveaway!

  13. I have gone camping. Loved it as a Girl Guide. Did camping with our couples group for several years. Something wierd always happened to us. We go to a cottage each year which is surrounded by woods. It is sort of camping with better amenities and no neighbours so close by. lol

  14. For sure a camper. Love time with my adult children and no tv. Long walks with grands and memorable teaching moments. Its all about family time for me. So, ready for spring and thanks for the chance to get a great start with these prizes.

  15. I’m a camper! I just (yesterday) finished a hand applique quilt for our camper. I think it turned out really nice. Camp theme with a tree, fish, fishin pole, bears, picnic basket, our camp trailer etc….
Thanks for the chance to win.

  16. I’m with you. A hot shower and a hotel bed! I do have a fire pit in my backyard so I can enjoy that aspect without camping. Great giveaway – thanks for the chance.

  17. I love camping. My best childhood memories are of camping trips, and my husband and I kept up the tradition with our family. Although some would say that our later camping with satellite hookup was not truly camping! Thanks for an awesome give away!

  18. Yes, I am a camper. Started in Girl Scouts and continued after I got married and the kids came along. Wonderful family times. Couldn’t go without my air mattress and a bath house near-by.

  19. 1,026 yep you made your goal, congrats.
I use to camp when the kids were still at home.. cheap vacation.. they liked sleeping in a tent, I liked sleeping in my custom van.. had a table in the back that made into a bed.. yep that was my way to camp…

  20. I’m not a camper. I love the view of the outdoors- just not the bugs, the heat (or cold), or dirt. I’m girly like that. Thanks for participating in the Quilters’ Blog Hop Party.

  21. I’m not really a camper. I don’t mind a caravan or tent but it needs to be in a park with toilet and shower facilities. I’m not into just going out bush without some of the comforts of home!

  22. I love to camp. I had never been before, and my husband took me when we first got married. I love to sit out under the trees and sew/embroider/quilt. I am looking for a
hand crank sewing machine to take with me in the future. Thanks for the chance to
    win!

  23. Thank you for the giveaway! I love that line of fabric. I am NOT a camper since the time I was 7 and my Dad said “look, this road looks like nobody uses it!” and then broke down and left my sister and I waiting by the car for 4 hours ;)
I’ll take a trailer anyday though!

  24. I live in a rustic cabin, far into the woods. So its like camping all the time ! I,d rather have a nice plush hotel vacation.

  25. I camped with my family every year when I was a kid, and I’ve gone camping a few times with my husband both with/without our kids along. Without kids is definitely easier! Now my husband and I are old and creaky so we need real beds to sleep in. :)

  26. I’m anything but a camper! I need a nice, clean spider free bed and a toilet to be able to enjoy a holiday =)

Thanks a lot for the chance to win such a lovely price!

  27. Hi and thank you for a wonderful give away! I’m not fan of camping but holidays in a summer cottage on a Finnish lake would be great. Sunny wishes from Greece!
    nerospost(at)gmail(dot)com

  28. I’m a Follower..I camp in a small trailer w/a bathroom, sink, microwave, heater, ac, tv, frig, etc.
It is more comfy than sleeping on the ground in a tent. I love your Giveaway!

  29. Camping – we started out with cots under the stars, bought a tent, then an outfitted van. Then right after our 2nd child, Daddy bought a lakehouse. That was the end of camping for me. I like my A/C, showers, king-size bed, microwave & cable TV. We inherited Daddy’s lakehouse and have since upgraded to a bigger place with room for the kids, their spouses and our 3 grandkids. Thanks for the giveaway! Glamping is so cute.

  30. We are such campers that we moved to the most temperate climate in Canada so we can camp 9 months of the year! BUT, entering our 40s now, we have finally decided to ditch the ground tent and invest in a tent trailer. I know, livin’ in the lap of luxury!

Great giveaway! Those fabrics are gorgeous! I could find a project for those in an instant!

  31. Camping? No thanks! I really like a bed, warm, soft and indoors! I like gardening and I use to hike a little but my hiking days are now more like just walking a nice walking path. Getting old. Thank you for the great giveaway(s). Hope I win!

  32. We used to camp when the Kiddo’s were little…all grown up now…so haven’t camped in long while. Love Mary Jane Butters!! Know about her Glamping & all…I get her Magazine’s! :)

  33. Hi, thanks for being part of the Hop. I used to go camping every weekend till I hurt my back and all that stopped. I went a few more times after that but every one had to do my work and I just felt like I was in the way so I stopped going.

  34. What a fabulous giveaway – thanks for the chance to win such a lovely prize.
We go camping regularly – often for events with the Citroen 2CV car club! It has been a great way to see many European countries and to be able to afford holidays when the kids were small.

  35. I don’t really know if I’m a camper or not. I really like the idea of it, but I haven’t gotten around to actually trying it. It seems a lot easier to just make a reservation at a hotel… :)

  36. camping for me is motel 6. I love being outside in the woods, but when it comes time to sleep I want a bed and bathroom!!!!

  37. I’ve never been a big “tent” camper, but we would go up to our family’s “camp,” a cabin at the top of the mountain with no running water and electricity run on car batteries!! I loved it. I haven’t been up there in a long time.

  38. Nope, me and camping don’t get along. And believe me, I tried a few times over the 35 years I’ve been married (yup, wouldn’t you know–I fell in love with an outdoorsman).

  39. Thanks for the opportunity to win such a lovely gift. We have camped forever and currently – for the past 20 years – have helped out at a campsite.

  40. My friend in Scotland goes camping in her caravan (pull along trailer for USA people) and this fabric would be terrific.

  41. I am a camper and have been since I was a little girl. My kids absoutely love it. Luckily my husband is a great outdoorsman because we tent it. So it’s the real deal. Thank you for the chance to enter.

  42. lol! Great question! Every year my husband’s uncle has a ‘Pasture Party’ and people bring their RVs to camp out for the weekend. We don’t have a RV so we put up a tent. My hubby stays with our girls – I drive the 5 minutes home and sleep comfortably in my bed for the night :) Thanks for the chance to win!

  43. Hiya, we camp each summer for New Year at a place called Te Anau here in New Zealand. It is smaller than Queenstown, less crowded than Wanaka and has a lake for fishing and waterskiing (though the weather can be up and down!!) Cheers!

  44. Oh yes I’m a camper. You can’t live in beautiful sunny South Africa and not experience the great outdoors. We love sailing and hiking for relaxation. We live on a farm and have horses, pot bellied pigs, dogs and cats – and many other creepy crawlies!!! Thank you for your generous giveaway. You now have 1052 followers on Facebook. Congrats, you have a super blog.

  45. Totally a camper. Made better by the fact that my hubby is an early riser and will make expresso and hand it into the tent while I’m still warm and comfy in my sleeping bag. After decades of mountaineering and backpacking, car camping feels plush.
