Changing Course…
Remember a few days ago, when I was working on this?
I was trying to decide what to do with my quilt a long blocks and was contemplating putting snowball blocks in between the nine patch blocks….Well I made a decision….
I made two quilts. I put the nine patch blocks together in the original design. Then I made more snowball blocks with a black background and put them together in a quilt. Now I have two quilt tops that need to be quilted….hopefully I can get one of them quilted this weekend.
Normally I take much longer to make a decision but I am taking the Joy in the New Year Challenge very seriously so watch for lots of projects to be reveiled as the final weeks of 2009 unfold.
Joy in the New Year Challenge
Today, I am starting the “Joy in the New Year Challenge” put on by Tallgrass Prairie Studio.

I would be WONDERFULLY happy if I could finish the nine individually listed projects. That means I need to finish one each week plus live through the holidays….that means I better get sewing!! I’ll keep you posted on my progress.

If you aren’t a winner, but want to make a set of letters for yourself. Here is a link to the Rag Letter tutorial at Oh So Happy Together. I made the bag using Rachel’s Tutorial at P.S. I Quilt. I am warning you that I did adjust the directions for the bag by adding nine strips instead of eight. I also made the bottom piece 9.5 x 7. When the corners were sewn I used a 2″ measurement rather than 1.5. The batting was cut the size of the top and the lining measurement changed to 16 x 101/4. The adjustments need to be made for the bag so that letters can fit in the bag.Â
