It’s an auction day here. I’ll be honest, hosting auctions is a lot hard and I put them off as long as I can as this is one way, I’m lazy. But, the Good Deeds Postage Fund is in need of money. It’s been out of money since November but I’ve not had the time to put together an auction so I’ve paid for everything myself. I can’t continue doing that so I stopped everything and got things together for an auction.
ALL PROCEEDS FROM THIS AUCTION WILL GO TO THE GOOD DEEDS/POSTAGE FUND. I am still buying a lot of batting for finishers and still shipping out a lot of quilt tops so there is still a need for funds to support it. I’ve gotten so I am buying a lot of batting nowadays but only for established regular quilt finishers.
In case you missed it, here is a little backstory on what we’re up to today. Kayla helped me to come up with a new auction format.
Before you bid:
- Read through the instructions on this page to understand how to bid
- Shipping is flat rate as shown for domestic. International postage will be calculated and invoiced.
- Be aware of when the auction closes and be accessible by email: Today’s auction is live as soon as the item is listed beneath the BID HERE comment. Bidding will close on Monday evening at 6 pm CENTRAL time zone.
- Bookmark the auction post
After you bid:
- Check back on the post to see which items you had the high bid on promptly after the auction closes at approximately 6 pm CENTRAL time on Monday evening.
- Fill out this form if you had any winning bids before Tuesday evening at 6 pm.
Keep an eye out for an email with your payment instructions and please pay by Wednesday evening at 6 pm. Pay promptly so I can ship promptly as soon as possible and only in one trip to the post office. If you don’t pay, that holds up other packages and fellow bidders have to wait to get their items.
IF YOU ARE UNAVAILABLE AND CAN’T FOLLOW THE GUIDELINES, please don’t bid. I’ve had to hunt high bidders down for a week after an auction and it is so frustrating. Because of that, if you have not paid and had no correspondence with me by Friday at noon Central time zone, I will offer the item to the person who bid less than you and you will forfeit the item.
Shipping charges to mail will be added to each order and listed. If it costs more than that, no worries. I’ll absorb the rest of the cost.
#1- Two Books: Addicted to Scraps and a Quilt Journal + $6 postage donated by blog reader
Addicted to Scraps in a Bonnie Hunter book. I’ve made a couple of the quilts in the book and would love to make more of them. The quilt journal is a spot you can record the quilts you are working on, dreaming of, or finished.
#2-Â Â Hand Applique Quilt UFO + $14 postage
This quilt is so close to a finish. The only applique left is of the six floral blocks and that is already started. The other pieces of the quilt are finished. There is extra fabric so everything is here to complete the top.
#3- Toy Singer Sewing Machine + $14 postage Donated by blog reader
This is a cute hand-crank little toy sewing machine. The hand wheel turns. It’s in good shape except for the case. Would make a wonderful display piece.
#4-Â Â Quilted Mittens UFO + $4 postage
The tops and lining are all ready to go to finish these. They would be cute to wear or cute to finish and use as decor.
#5-Â Â Singer Sew Handy Sewing Machine + $ 14 postage donated by blog reader
The box has some wear but the little machine is in great shape. The instruction book is included. Would make a great display piece in your sewing room.
#6- Vintage Singer Hand-Crank Pinking Machine + $14 postage Donated by blog reader
I have never seen one of these. It’s super cute and works. (yes, I had to try it out) A copy of the instruction manual is included. If you are a collector of sewing goodies, this might be one you’d love to add to your collection.
#7-Â Â Collection of Vintage Sewing Items + $3 postage donated by blog reader
This is a great collection of vintage sewing notions. They would be great in any vintage sewing basket or decor in your sewing room.
#8- Vintage Sunbonnet Sue and Overall Andy Quilt top + $10 postage donated by blog reader
This one is a top that needs some TLC or possibly an updo. It is about 71×98 It’s missing some of the setting triangles. It’s missing some of the borders. There is some staining. But it is also so cute. The colors are great. Maybe it could be fixed as is or someone could take the blocks apart and start over. Either way it was too good not of offer.
#9-Â Â Vintage Lady blocks Unfinished + $5 postage donated by blog reader
**UPDATE** Please scroll to the bottom of the comment section to bid on this item.
These 17 1/2″ x 17 1/2″ blocks are ready for some talented fingers to finish them. There are 7 blocks. One isn’t embroidered. The colors are all good.Â
#10- Vintage Bible Embroidery Blocks + $8 postage donated by blog reader
These blocks are 11 1/2″ x 11 1/2″. There are 12 blocks in total. The embroidery is nice. The blocks are oriented on point.
#11-Â Vintage Flower Garden Quilt Top Needs work + $12 postage
Although this top needs some work to finish it, it is in good shape. I didn’t lay out all of the pieces to see if everything was there but just a quick glance tells me it’s close to having the extra blocks there. This is hand pieced and will be about 80 x 84 once the pieces are added. The colors in this are fabulous. I didn’t notice any obvious staining.
#12- Vintage Feed Sack Prints + $8 postage donated by blog reader
These are in good shape. Please look at the pieces in the second photo and note that two of the pieces have a cut out of them.
#13-Â Vintage blocks + $6 postage donated by a blog reader
These are fun blocks there are 7 blocks total and they are 16 1/2″ x 16 1/2″. It would be tempting to reproduce this block as it is unique and not one I regularly see. Â
#14- Alpine Wonder Panel Quilt Kit + $13 postage donated by blog reader
This looks like a quick and easy project. It looks to be a complete kit. Wouldn’t it be cute to add charms or buttons to the tree? Size details are in the second photo.
#15-Â Â Timeless Treasures Noel Quilt Kit + $13 postage donated by a blog reader
This pretty quilt is actually a quick quilt as the “applique” is a cheater panel and is already done for you. I believe all of the fabric is here for you to make this project.
#16-Â Â Joann’s block of the month Desert Sky + $13 postage donated by blog reader
This is the quilt kit to make this block-of-the-month quilt. All the blocks are here as well as a finishing kit. There is still time to get the January block finished!!
#17-Â Seven Sisters hand-pieced UFOÂ + $10 postage
There are 45 hand-pieced stars in this offering. There is also extra fabric and templates.
#18-Â Â Template and fabrics + $8 postage donated by a blog reader
Here are some vintage quilt templates and some vintage fabrics that would be great if you are repairing a vintage quilt. These would also make some cute pieces if you are interested in junk journaling.
#19-Â Â Tonga Treats Pre-cuts + $12 postage donated by blog reader
Included are two packs of 40- 5″ charm squares and 2 packs of 42 2 1/2″ strips. All of these are batiks in a neutral color. All go together to make up this lot.
#20- Charm Square bundle + $14 postage
This mix of 10 charm squares makes up this lot. The three on the left are all the same. The others are all individual packs. Cute for decorating or sewing or cute to add to a gift for a quilty friend.
#21-Â Â Vintage Primrose Applique quilt top + $ 13 postage
This beautifully appliqued quilt top is so pretty and the workmanship is really nice. It is 70 x 84 1/2. It would be so beautiful finished.
That’s the listing of items for this time around. I have some more things here ready for another auction if you didn’t see anything that tempted you this time…I have lots of vintage sewing machine attachments so if you need those, let me know and I’ll make sure to get some in the next auction.
If you have questions, please ask in the comments and I will get to them so everyone can see the answers.
PLEASE scroll back to the top and read the instructions about bidding before you bid. ALL BIDS MUST BE PUT IN THE COMMENT SECTION OF THIS POST AND MUST BE ENTERED UNDER THE RIGHT LOT.
