At the Retreat

The first day of retreat was Wednesday.  It was our getting there and setting up day.  Connie came from her house and stopped at my house on her way.  As we drove away, this was our scene….poor Ruby wondering where we were going.  It made me a little sad.

Connie and I had both brought things that we planned to set up and sell garage sale style at the retreat.  So our first order of business was to get there and set that up before the other retreaters came.

Here’s the set up…
Connie had a car load FULL of stuff.  She had done some de-stashing and even parted with some of her notions.  Jelly rolls anyone??

Lou Ann had some things for sale too.  Check out the fun baby buggy.  Connie quickly filled it with scrap bags…  $2 each.

Connie is a champion crocheter and made up dish clothes, dusters, scrubbies and so much more.  Prices are awesome at $3 each.

I brought linens…some sewing notions too.

There were all sorts of goodies.

I’ve managed to collect THREE Featherweights besides mine that Hubby bought for me.  All work…choice for $275.  I have years 1948, 1950 and 1953.  If someone is interested contact me through my email.  If shipped I’m guessing that would be another $50.  All work and stitch nicely but all could use a complete accessory pack…two of the cases don’t latch.  The machines aren’t mint but still very nice and would work wonderfully.  If you have questions, email me.  rogjok@iowatelecom.net.  I’m at retreat but will check my email in the the evening.

So far I’ve done terrible at my vow to not spend very much money….I’ve bought some garage sale things.  I bought an awesome light from Lou Ann.

I’ll tell you more about all of that later.

Most of the stuff is quilting or sewing related.  Some is not.  If you’re in the area, you’re welcome to stop by as the sale is open to the public.

Our group is MUCH smaller that I anticipated.  That’s okay though.  I’m finding it’s all people I made a connection with before and it’s so wonderful to renew those connections.

…and with that, I’m off.  I’m heading to bed.  I’m calling it an early night tonight.  More on the retreat in another post!!

  1. Me, too, love your quilt! A wonderful surprise to see another quilt from you & Kelli published! I love your quilt Picadilly Circus in the latest issue of Quiltmaker magazine!

  2. I have been on the hunt for an actual Featherweight for some time. Just my luck I just last week bought a Baby Lock JAZZ machine brand new for 1/2 price! Or I would be the proud owner of one of your featherweights.

  3. I’d love to know about the retreat for next year! I love coming to Iowa to visit. Wish I had the money for those Featherweights, but I just got a new longarm. Maybe next time – – –
