Every once in a while I get a comment or email from a reader that I think more people would like to the know the answer to. Today is one of those days.
From Tami, “Hi Jo! Have loved watching your home grow!! I know you are busy as all get out, but I thought I’d let you know that you should probably put your new address on your “All About Jo” page: http://www.joscountryjunction.com/about/“.
Thanks for telling me Tami. That’s one I would have forgotten about. I have been changing the address on the bills that have been coming in. I’ve also done other changes here and there but I completely forgot about the blog. I get lots of scraps and goodies from readers as well as charity quilts. By the way once the quilt machine is up and going I’ll be back to working on some charity quilts. I’m itching to get to the machine. I told Hubby that we have a deadline quilt that needs to be quilted soon so word is, if he doesn’t get to it sooner, Sunday is the day we’re getting the quilting machine set back up. Ah…one more step towards normal.
Anyway…here’s our address:
111 2nd Ave NE
Waucoma, IA 52171
You can always find it on the “about me” page.
We got a sweet comment from Kim regarding our book, “Thank you! Looking forward to getting my book, hope it’s not your last.”
We hope it’s not our last too Kim. I do have to say that Kelli and I had a long conversation about this very topic today. We talked about how we felt about the whole book writing process now that the book is actually in our hands. We’ve decided that it’s a little like birthing a baby. There’s lots of pain but in the end, you mostly forget about all of it. We are certain that many of the “pains” simply came because we didn’t know what to expect and didn’t quite understand the formatting or process. I won’t say we’ll do one for sure but I can say that Kelli has the entire summer off and will be needing something to occupy her time….that means if it’s going to happen, I better get some final designs together. It’s not a yes…it’s not a no but it’s at least something we are thinking might be okay. We will keep you posted.
From Myra, “I have been waiting to see you in your new home,,, I am so HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY for you, all that hard work has sure paid on in a most beautiful way.
I love your new home.”
We’ve gotten so many comments like Myra’s many of you are waiting to see more pictures and I promise, I’ll get to it. My days have been going a little like this…I work during the day getting things tidy then Hubby comes home, I make him supper and by the time I am done with dishes, he’s found some things in the garage or basement that he thinks I need to take care of so he deposits them on the table, the island or the dining room table. Then I am back to wanting to clean something off before I take pictures. He was home most of the day on Sunday and by that night, although I was happy with the progress he made in the garage (he, with Craig’s help, got a bay cleaned out and we could park the pickup in the garage) but the inside of the house was a disaster all over again!!
I do have to say, we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, the house. The layout is everything I ever dreamed of. There is the perfect amount of space. I love the openness. Our antique furniture looks wonderful with the hardwood floors and woodwork. We are both just so happy with everything. We do wish we had the trim all up and all the doors in place but that will just have to come with time.
I promise…the second I get a spot cleaned off, I’ll snap some pictures…at least now taxes are done so I’m not fighting that too. I am however fighting the mess that I created while doing taxes…honestly, I’m not much better than Hubby.
I get one area clean only to mess up anther area too.
I keep telling myself it will all get done soon enough.
Thanks so much for all the well wishes on our move. We are so happy to be here. Even Hubby said to me the other day, “you know, I was worried how I’d feel leaving the farm and driving away at night-but it actually felt good!” That’s the best news yet for me. I’ve wanted him to get the weight of being responsible for everything off his back. I think he’ll be much happier.
..and that’s the latest edition of “Ask Jo”.
My book came yesterday and I’m so happy! It’s absolutely awesome.
Hi Jo,
I sent you something on Thursday before I saw this, but I sent it to the old address. It said it was delivered today and was just wondering if you had received it.
Thanks,
Marie
