Every so often I get questions or comments from readers that I think other might like to know the answers to as well. I answer them here on the blog. Today is one of those days….
The first question comes for Dotti, “Jo, Where is that pattern found? I am amazed that you got four finished. You are a very busy, energetic and productive lady. Quilt on!”
Dotti asked this after seeing this picture of my Pineapple Crazy blocks in this blog post.

I got one comment in that made me laugh…this one came from Carol, she writes, “That is so beautiful. Your husband should be quite proud of it – it fits so right with the rest of the house. When you have some time (ha!) could you snap some pics of your sewing studio?”
My quilting room is a mess. There are boxes all over. I work on it little by little but I’m a little paralyzed by it all. I have gotten rid of so much stuff from the house but haven’t gotten rid of much in the sewing room. I have so many old-old books and magazines. Do I keep them-do I not? Do I keep my Barbie clothes patterns. Now days current Barbies are shaped so different. What do I do with it…keep…pitch. Am I really going to make some of these things…I know I already put my “Dear Jane” and my “Nearly Insane” book in a box to sell here on the blog one day via virtual garage sale. I’m coming to the realization that I’m not going to make some of these things. It’s hard to part with them but honestly…I don’t like making sampler quilts. I know that about myself now…I didn’t then. There are other things there too that need attention…it’s slow going honestly, it’s easier to do a little sewing rather than sorting.
I need to refinish a cupboard for up there yet too. I hate to put things away just to have to re-organize once that cupboard is done.
It might be a while before many blog posts are done in the sewing room…Sorry Carol and all of you who have been waiting. Trust me, I’m waiting too.

Love your blocks! They’re looking great. It is difficult to organize the sewing room. I’m sure it will help to have a cupboard. Do you have a plan for storing fabric? I have those rolling carts with a different color in each drawer and photo boxes from Michaels (also sorted by color) for fat quarters.
I don’t like making sampler quilts either. We all learn our likes and dislikes over time, don’t we?
Don’t be too hard on yourself. You haven’t been in the house that long. It will all come together.
