Every so often a reader asks a question that I think other readers might like the answer to as well so I answer them here on the blog. Â Today is one of those days.
After seeing this picture of my cousin Donna’s quilt on the quilting frame Mayleen wrote, “In the first photo, what is the name of the quilt/designer of the quilt hanging on the wall in the background? I don’t free motion quilt but I’d like to hear about it!”
You can just see a glimpse of the quilt in the picture…but it’s one of my favorites.
Here is the full picture of the wall hanging.
Often times when I show a picture of quilts that I am quilting on the frame you can can see bits of quilts that are hanging on the wall in my sewing room. Â All of them are Country Threads’ designs.
Even though the shop has gone out of business they still have books that are in print through Martingale. Â Most of my quilts are from the book The Blue and the Gray: Quilt Patterns using Civil War Fabrics. Â I have never officially reviewed this book on the blog but I did give you a tour of my quilting room and the walls have many of the quilts from the book hanging on them. Â You can find that blog post here.
They also have another book in print Civil War Remembered: 19 Quilts Using Reproduction Fabrics. Â You can read my review of this book here.
Another question came in from a couple people…They want to know the name of the pattern and designer of my cousin’s quilt. Â This one.
I asked Donna and she said-“It’s a free pattern from Northcott Fabric.” Â Here is the link.
That wraps up the ask Jo for this session. Â Feel free to leave your questions here or to email them to me at rogjok@iowatelecom.net.
That is so lovely! :)
Greetings from Finland!
