April Schnibble…Tag a Long

Last night I finished my Schnibble of the Year, Tag-a-long. ย Mine turned out very different than the original.

There isn’t supposed to be a sashing between the blocks, but without it, the quilt looked SO busy. ย I saw over at Quilting is Blissful that Di had the same problem so I went with her solution and added sashing too. ย The fabric is from a couple Civil War reproduction charm packs that I had plus some yardage from my stash. ย  I just love when I can create something from what is here rather purchasing more fabric.

This little beauty is going to be Grandma’s 90th anniversary present. ย Grandma is in the nursing home and I think this will be a great size for a lap quilt to cover her legs when she is in her wheel chair. ย It ended up being about 42″ square.

These circles are my favorite quilting design. ย The first time I did them was a real challenge but now, each time I quilt the design, it gets easier and easier.

As always, if you wantย to see other versions of ย Tag a long check outย tomorrowโ€™s Schnibble paradeย hosted byย A Quilting Life andย Pink Pinchusion.

  1. Jo-once again I just love your quilt-you and I have such similar taste-It’s beautiful! Lani

  2. Jo – The quilt came out really nice! I just love these Schnibbles patterns. I just may have to purchase them. I also like the circles design. Any tips? I would like to try these too. I’m sure your grandmother will love this quilt.

  3. Jo, I love your Schnibbles! I thought mine looked a little busy, too. However, it’s all put together and I’m not going to unsew at this point, LOL.

  4. I love the way your Schnibbles came out too—I always love the look of the civil war fabrics and do have a stash–but for some reason I never use them much–so you may have inspired me, too!!!
wonder which one will be for May–Hugs, Di
