On Monday I showed you my new Tumbler Template.  I have gotten lots of questions so I thought I would address them all here on the blog.  It’s easier than answering all the individual emails.
In the above photo, our daughter, Kelli, was using a 2 1/2″ fabric strip to cut the tumblers. Â They are oh so cute.
The Tumbler Template is designed by Marti Michell. Â You can order the template here. Â The template costs $14.
Here’s a little demo of how to use it. Â Start off by turning the template upside down. Â Trim off the edge. Â I am working with a 3 1/2″ strip from my scrap users system.
Move the template over and cut again.
Flip the template and cut again.
Continue flipping and cutting until you have the desired amount of pieces. Â If you have used an Easy Angle or Companion Angle Template, the cutting method is similar. Â If you are careful, you could cut four layers at a time giving you four tumblers for each cut.
Some people were wondering if the finished tumbler is compatible with a Accuquilt tumbler. Â I took a picture…you decide. Â In the pictures a pink and blue tumbler are stacked on top of each other. Â The blue is the AccuQuilt and pink is the template. Â The AccuQuilt shape seems to be slightly shorter and slightly wider.
As I said on Monday, I love the template because it works with my scrap saver system.
I am busy sorting and reorganizing…I started Monday night and hopefully by tomorrow I’ll be finished.  WHAT A MESS!!  I’ll tell you more about that later.
Thanks so much for sharing about this ruler! It’s on my list to purchase. Thanks!
Hmm, it looks like I’m going to have to keep using my Accuquilt as a template for a while. I started a Tumbler quilt with the Accuquilt so I guess I’ll keep going. But I’m definitely going to pick up that template. Thanks for the link.
