A post from Kelli–
When Mom and I went to Osage to the Junk Fair a few weeks ago, I got an amazing find–this sign:
I was immediately in love with it. During the Superbowl in 2013, Dodge made a commercial based on a poem written by Paul Harvey in 1978 about how God created a farmer. You can see the commercial here if you haven’t seen it yet. As a farmer’s daughter and a farmer’s wife, I have found many of the lines in the poem to be very true and the poem immediately hit quite close to home for me.
I am looking forward to getting this sign hung up in my sewing room so that when Jason calls to tell me at 10:00 at night that he’ll just be another hour or so (really meaning closer to 2 hours, maybe more) I will remember that it takes a certain kind of person to be a caretaker of the planned paradise and I am very blessed to know 2 of them!
Oh that was very sweet! and true!
As a farmer’s daughter, I am in love with your sign—what a special find…..I will be on the look-out for one….
My grandfather and all generations before him were farmers. I have cousins who still farm.
I love your sign and those who have not had the honor of being in a farming family have missed out on more that they will ever know!
Love your sign and have always loved the poem by Paul Harvey. Every time I hear it my heart swells!
What a fabulous quote!
Thanks for sharing it with us, Kelli!
