I was over reading Farm Quilter’s blog and saw that she’s participating in “A Lovely Year of Finishes“. Â Well I had to check that out because goodness knows I need to finish some of my own quilts. Â That lead to another blog and another and I realized that Blogger’s Quilt Festival would be coming soon and I’d like a quilt for that. Â That made me decide that I’d like to get my Lozenges quilt finished.
The last time I told you about it, the quilt was this far…
I’ve added a few more rows since and am in striking distance…so my goal is to have this done by the end of the month in time for the Quilter’s Blog Festival. Â That will be do-able I think. Â The festival starts on the 24th…that gives me two weeks.
So often the quilts I make for myself are put on the back burner. Â It’s good to know one of mine will be getting done soon!! Â Once this is done I think I am going to pull out my Celtic Solstice quilt….but I have to admit, I’m not excited about that one.
Okay, I am in: I am publicly declaring one Bonnie quilt totally finished and one set of blocks into a top BEFORE BLACK FRIDAY! Haven’t sewn in a couple of weeks, but I am blocking out some time this weekend.
I’m right there with you, too, Jo! I’ve got my lozenges blocks ready to get sewn together (though my top will be closer to twin size) and, well, I’m ashamed to say that my Celtic Solstice is still in the cutting stage. I may put that one aside until after this year’s mystery since Bonnie indicated that this one will be a bit less involved…we’ll see……
And the new mystery was announced today and goodness knows that one has to be on the “to-do” list. Good luck with the lozenges! I’m hoping to finish my split nine-patch leader/ender before the new mystery.
OH! Don’t be unexcited about Celtic Solstice. I just finished quilting mine this weekend and I LOVE it!! You will love yours also when it’s done. There is so much movement in it. Even The Husband thought it was a pretty quilt. High praise coming from him!
Just get ‘er done!
