Airing of the Quilts from Ray

Ray, our of the wonderful longarmers who finishes Community Quilts, recently had a big quilt showing and sale as part of their community outreach fundraiser with his church. Ray is sharing pictures with us today.

He said rain had threatened but ended up staying away. Here are some pictures of the event.

They have a few other ways they raise money at the event besides only selling quilts. I love the colors in the quilt below…

If you sent a top to Ray, do you see your quilt top?? I thought this would be fun to share the Airing of the Quilts so that one of you might be inspired to hold your own event.

Ray writes:

Here are some pics from the Airing on Saturday. There was plenty of beeze to make the quilts flutter and fly on occasion. We had a good turnout with lots of quilters stopping and looking and getting ideas for quilts.

We only sold a dozen or so but that is OK. It was great to see people out and about. I think we are hitting the same pool of individuals and need to find a different pool. Even more reason to investigate online auction options more.

I’m just going to throw this out there…Does anyone need a quilt for a gift or occasion? If you need one, contact Ray. I’m sure he can find one for you to purchase from the quilts that weren’t sold. Maybe you see one in a picture?

Feel free to contact Ray at

Any money raised will go the churches outreach program. THANKS to everyone who helped make this a success…and Ray, your church is so lucky to have you!!

  1. Our Quilt guild Quilt Show is in the local park. The members bring quilts and the city hangs clothes lines. It is a great time with hundreds of quilts in the outdoors.
