I’ve not done many air fryer recipes. To be honest, I don’t use it a lot for cooking. My main use is for freezer foods…I thought I would cook healthier with it but so far, I haven’t. I’ve actually probably ate more things from it that aren’t the healthiest but…some of them are really good and it is a step up from fried foods…right?
My latest thing to make is loaded criss cuts. I’m kind of goofy. I go to a restaurant, find something there I love and then try to replicate it.
I love doing it. I love the challenge but then sadly, I get good enough at it that the restaurant no longer is quite as appealing. It’s a double edged sword. I have fun replicating….I love eating it at home without the restaurant costs…I miss the restaurant and the opportunity not to cook.
Alas…here’s what I came up with for a recipe.
I did one of those annoying things…I forgot to take process pictures. Luckily this is so easy that I am sure you don’t need them.
Fry some bacon in a pan on the stove….if you like a lot like we do, fry a half pack…if you like less, fry less. I like to cut mine up into small bit sized pieces before frying. It fries quicker.
While that is frying put some loaded Criss Cut french fries into the air fryer. I’m not going to tell you how long. Each air fryer is different and has it’s own settings. Shake them about half way through cooking.
The bacon should be done about now…drain it.
Once the Criss Cuts are done, put them our onto a platter. Put shredded cheese over the top. I sprinkle ours with a little steak seasoning but it’s not necessary. They put on the toppings. We put on the bacon and onions. I’d have preferred green onions, but I don’t run a restaurant and we make due with what we have around here.
Microwave them just long enough for the cheese to melt.
We serve them with sour cream….I love these….so addicting. I had tried this before without an air fryer. It isn’t the same. The air fryer gets them so they aren’t soggy at all…perfect.
Give it a try and tell what you think.
