Last month I got a sweet email from Cathey. She wanted to share with me her version of my Moda Bake Shop pattern, “A Touch of Red”…only her’s is in yellow.
I absolutely love it! The yellows just make that quilt pop.
What’s even more fun it that Cathey rewrote the directions making is MUCH easier and less time consuming. Here’s what Cathy said, “I love the look of this pattern; however, the thought of cutting 672 – 2-1/2″ squares is frightening. I hope you don’t mind that I reworked the block instructions so it can be strip-pieced.”
Do I mind…NO-Never!! I am happy to see improvements! I quickly asked Cathy if I could share her instructions here with all of you and she was kind enough to say YES!! Here’s the link to the PDF file for “A Touch of Yellow”. It really is much easier the way Cathey has it designed.
Cathey already has plans to make another crib or lap sized version using black, white and robin’s egg blue. That will be another beauty.
Here’s my version of the same quilt.
I just love seeing the quilt made in different colors.
Thanks so much Cathey for sharing your version and the new updated directions!!
Wow! That’s quite a quilt!
Another beautiful version of your quilt! And I love how she dressed to match the quilt…or made the quilt to match her outfit?!?
Jo, I can’t get anything to come up when I click on the link for a Touch of Yellow’s instructions. Is it just me, or is everybody having issues?
