A Sad Day…

I was saddened to hear the passing of a wonderful lady. You all know her as Sandra from the Cresco Ladies quilting group.

My cousin Gladie who lives in the Cresco area and belongs to the guild Sandra belongs to notified me today that Sandra died. Gladie said she was in the hospital for a month or so battling lung issues with other complications.

Sandra was the leader of the Cresco Ladies Community Quilt Group. She was my contact and it was her I was often seeing to exchange quilt tops and other fabric with.

I hadn’t talked with Sandra in the past few weeks but thought nothing of it as she was a grandma and end-of-the-school-year activities often have grandma’s busy. Sandra also did a lot of babysitting for her grandkids so would be away from time to time.

I am heartbroken that I didn’t know she was sick and didn’t let her know how important and appreciated she was.

If anyone would like to send a card to the family, here is an address:
The Moore Family – 505 7th Ave E, Cresco, IA 52136

I know many of you sent fabric Sandra’s way and many of you finished quilts that Sandra’s hand touched. She was part of so many things and helped so many people with her work.

The verse from Matthew comes to mind when I think of Sandra.
His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”

God collected a good one today and left so many of us feeling sad. If you’ve like to know more about the Cresco Lady Quilters, you can read THIS blog post.
