It was late at night and my phone dinged. Kalissa had sent a message about an upcoming garage sale. There was no note with the message…just the listing and pictures. I decided to scroll through the pictures and see what she was thinking about. Here were the pictures…

I like that white bench…but that wasn’t it. I was sure.

Oh, did she think I needed crafting supplies? I didn’t think so.

That raised flower bed…hmm. No.

Then I saw this picture. I was CERTAIN that she sent the listing to me because she thought I might want the red table and stool set. I messaged her and yes, I was right.

I ended up sending the listing to Rick without an explanation, too. He immediately picked out the table and the stools, too. We wanted them for the garage up-do.
Wednesday, I was telling Rick my plans for Thursday. I said I had a doctor’s appointment and that I wanted to hit up the garage sale…But I would have to take Kalissa’s boys with me because it was my day for babysitting. Rick immediately stopped the conversation and said, no. I wasn’t taking the boys…and I was taking his pickup. He said it all in the kindest way. He would watch the boys…and I could take his truck.
So Thursday, I did just that. I went to the garage sale…it was a ways away. About 45 minutes. But it was just past where I needed to go to see the doctor, so it was really only 10 minutes out of my way. I got there right at 8 am and people where already buying things. I was so disappointed. I had messaged the lady the previous day and asked about the table and chairs. She had said- No early sales. Her people were already checking out.
The sale was HUGE. I scanned the area, hoping to find the table and chairs. I finally found them. They weren’t sold. Whew. I immediately went to the register and purchased them. Then I shopped for other things. I ended up getting two extra chairs I hope to reupholster, I stool for me, and an entertainment center type thing.
The table and chairs $100
two stool to fix $4 each
stool for me on wheels $4
TV stand $50 it was brand new
I had been worried about loading but there were two guys there that loaded everything for me. It was wonderful.
All of this was for the garage up-do so we can use it as a family area. Rick and Carver set things up. We even hooked up my old Nintendo 64. Rick brought a sound bar from his place. Anders, Carver, and I had to check it out. Here we are playing. The stand under the television is what I bought at the garage sale. It has a fireplace heater in the bottom middle. The kids love that. It’s nothing fancy but perfect for what we need and narrow so we can still park vehicles in the garage.

Here is the table and chair set. It’s like new.

They can easily fit between the vehicles. Then Rick can back his truck out and we have a place to sit and put a drink when we are playing darts.
This is the stool I bought. It’s on wheels and gives me a spot to sit when I’m out in the garage and want to move around. I was at the check out stand when I saw this and quickly said, I’d take the stool too. It’s awesome and I love it.

These are the two stools I want to reupholster.

I’ll watch a couple of Youtube videos and figure out how to do it. I’m sure Rick will help me.
So…we have all the seating we need out in the garage now. Next up are screens for the garage doors and, eventually, a pool table. It’s coming together, and so far, it has gotten lots of use. I love it.

I’m still pushing for you to get a pool table, Jo. We had one when the kids were at home and it folded up, which would give you more room in the garage it you needed it.
Your garage room is really coming together! I love what you found at the garage sale. Hugs,
What a wonderful sale and so glad the table and stools were still there. Bonus, you found some other great treasures to fill out the fun garage space.
FyI I’ve ordered replacement stool covers that were reasonably priced in the past. Just Google it.
