If you haven’t been over to my blog yet this week you’ll want to check out the giveaway for the Ecolux Light Sewing Machine Light.
Now onto today’s post….Since I got my new desk, I’ve been sorting and reorganizing. During the process I have been finding more projects that were started and more projects I had intended to do. As much as I don’t need to start more projects, I figured if I don’t start them, how will the project ever get finished. So Sunday I took the time to to start this little needle case. I glued the pieces in place, found fabric for the inside “pages” and sewed the pages and cover together.
The only thing I needed to do was stitch the binding and sew the wool pieces in place. Yesterday Hubby and I went to Minnesota to visit his mom.
Along the drive I stitched. My little needle case is finished!
I love it. Although I have been sewing, quilting and crafting for a long time, I have never made a needle case.
I worked some on another wool project and made progress on it too. Tomorrow I am hoping to get some more wool pieces cut and placed so I have something ready to take with the next time we go on a road trip.
I am SO thankful that stitching while we travel doesn’t bother me.
I also took some time to sew together these four maverick star blocks.
The blocks are made with fabric from blog viewers. The blocks are all 6 1/2″ inches and are going to the Colorado Lady. She is quickly sewing a quilt together for a little girl who is dying from cancer. She is asking bloggers to make 6″ finished blocks and mail them to her so she can get the quilt sewn together quickly. There is still time to make a few blocks and send them. Follow the link to her blog to learn how you can help.
To see projects others are finishing, head on over to Confessions of a Fabric Addict and Crazy Mom Quilts. Also, the Quilting Gallery is also sponsoring their weekly Quilt Contest. This week they are featuring baby quilts. Go check them out and if you’re so inclined, vote for my Crumb quilt with the alphabet border.
I voted….good Luck Jo
I’ve wanted to make a needle case lately – haven’t made one yet. Yours is very cute! Unfortunately, I get car sick, so can’t make use of drive times… bleh!
I voted for your quilt – very cute!
Wow that is a really nice needle case. Pretty! You are about the third person I have heard from lately who has been cleaning and has UFO’s. I look forward to the day that I have UFO’s, especially nice ones like the ones you have shared. LOL Have a great weekend!
Love your stars-they are so fun! Whoop! Whoop!
Your needle case is so cute and the hand stitching gives it so much charm. I love the white background on the colorful stars, too. I have made a few quilts for terminally ill children and have received feedback from their families about how much those quilts are cherished. It’s a beautiful thing to be able to contribute to something like that. Great work this week!
That needle case is sew cute! I love star blocks, too.
I love your sweet little needle book, and your star blocks are great – going to such a good cause!! Whoop whoop!!
