A Friday Finish for 2013

I finished up the Nine in the Middle quilt.

Ruby, our beagle, was sound asleep in a near by chair but when she heard me trying to situate the quilt on the couch.  She woke up and ran over insisting she get her chance to model.

Who can say no to Ruby (unless she chews your camera cord-which she did yesterday-then I said NO very loudly)?

I love the movement of the baptist fans in the quilting.  I will definitely be using them again.  In fact, I have two quilts upstairs that need to be quilted that I think I will use the design on again.  They are free handed.  If you want to see how to do them, check out this link.

The pattern is from Bonnie Hunter’s book, Adventures with Leaders & Enders: Make More Quilts in Less Time!   I love the pattern and love the book.  Originally when I started the quilt, I had intended on making it for a benefit quilt but I’m gonna be honest.  I don’t think I am parting with it.  There are other quilts that I would rather part with.

I know I am not parting with the naughty puppy either….her goodness by far out weighs one chewed camera cord.

Today I am hooking up with Confessions of a Fabric AddictLink a Finish Friday,  Friday Finishes  and Crazy Mom Quilts.  Before you go, I thought I’d pass on a giveaway for a fat quarter bundle happening here on the blog.  You can find that here.

  1. Ruby looks very possessive of the quilt, too. She is quite the model – she has that “yes, I AM all that” look about her. I really like the quilt – I don’t think I would give it up, either.

  2. I love this pattern and the fabrics you used! What is it with your dogs wanting to model? Mine always hang their head and look away.

  3. Your quilt is beautiful and Ruby looks wonderful on it. She is just adorable. We have three funny little pugs who like to sleep on quilts.

  4. I don’t blame you for not wanting to part with this one! I need to try the Baptist Fan – that works really well with this quilt.

  5. Love your quilt. I need to get all the Bonnie Hunter books as I love scrappy quilts. I would not be able to give this quilt away either.

  6. love that quilt! And as for the chewed camera cord, that wasn’t Ruby the Good– it was her mischevious twin sister, *wink, *wink.

  7. I really like your quilt, and I don’t think that I’d want to part with it either. I like the Baptist Fan quilting on a lot of scrap quilts. Ruby seems to be a natural when it comes to modeling. Thanks for sharing.

  8. I wouldn’t be giving up that quilt either, it’s beautiful. I don’t think Ruby has any intentions of giving it up either by the look on her sweet little face.

  9. I love your blogg, furbaby and your quilts. This quilt has been on my list to make and I have been thrift store shoppong for mens shirts just to make Bonnie’s quilts. You are so awesome.

  10. I never feel like a quilt is finished unless one of my dogs poses on it – kind of like giving it the canine seal of approval!! I love both the quilt and Ruby!
