A Cuppa Joe for Jo

I came from a coffee drinking family and hubby’s family are coffee drinkers, too. Three of our five kids drink coffee but for me, the bug never bit. I have tried coffee several times, but nothing left me longing for more. Recently BlogHer contacted a few of their bloggers asking if any of us wanted to try Maxwell House International cafe style coffees in a new way as creamer in their coffee. I asked my coffee-drinking kids if they wanted to give it a try as I don’t really like coffee. So I wouldn’t be a good candidate to test it. Kalissa and her boyfriend, Craig, jumped at the chance. I suggested that they try the Maxwell House International Hazelnut first. First they drank it straight as cafe style coffee. They thought it was was pretty good! Coffee-2Then they decided to use the Maxwell House International as creamer–Vanilla Caramel Latte this time–in the coffee they normally drink. They liked that even better. In fact, they liked it better than their usual creamer. Kalissa liked it so much that she started egging me on, suggesting I at least try drinking Maxwell House International as a regular cafe style drink. I was skeptical as I said before, I am not a real coffee fan. Just to get her to be quiet, I decided to give it a try. What did I have to lose? I tried and guess what?? I liked it. I know it’s silly, but I have always wanted to like coffee. When people talk about sitting around drinking a cup of coffee I’ve always felt a little left out. When people talk about their morning “cup of Joe,” I always wished that I liked coffee…but I just didn’t.

So here’s what we decided about our Maxwell House International taste test. The kids who both already like coffee loved using the latte as a creamer–just a couple spoonfuls added a little romance to their coffee. Coffee-1It added more of a flavor rather than regular creamer…me, I admit, since I got my original Vanilla Caramel Latte I’ve already been to town and purchased another….I love it. It is a wonderful creamy and flavorful coffee experience. I know, I know, you die-hard coffee drinkers are saying it’s a latte…an espresso drink and not plain coffee. That’s okay, for me it’s one step closer and now at least I can enjoy “a cup of Joe” with you. So far, I’ve tried both the Vanilla Caramel and the Cinnamon Spice. I am hoping to find Peppermint Mocha Latte. There are so many different Maxwell House flavors that I am sure there is one that you might like to try in a new way as a creamer, or discover it as its own cafe style beverage as I did. Pop on over to the Maxwell House site and get a free sample or coupon while they last! Leave a comment telling me which you would like to try, and you’ll be entered for a chance to win a $100 Visa gift card! There are so many to try, including French Vanilla, Vanilla Nut, Hazelnut, Suisse Mocha, Vanilla Caramel, and Café Vienna.
