It is blog tour day. Actually it’s been blog tour week (or so). Kelli and I are your last stop.
We had so much fun with this project and will happily jump on board and do another if the chance arises. The people at C&T Publishing were great to work with.
If you’re new to the blog, I’ll say welcome. I’m glad you could stop by. My daughter Kelli and I are the creative forces around here. We blog typically twice a day so there is always something fun and fresh to check out. We have lots of free patterns that you check out. You can find them along the right side bar of the blog. We’ve had a really big year. In January our book Country Girl Modern came out. We had quilts featured in several national magazines year and we have a quilt featured in American Patchwork and Quilting 2016 calendar…PLUS, we were involved in 75 Fun Fat Quarter Quilts. It’s been busy….but a fun kind of busy that we enjoy.
Last fall we were contacted by Roxane at C&T and were asked if we wanted to take part in the book. Although we were busy, we jumped at the chance. We were asked to design a quilt and then provide variations. It was a fun design concept.
Our first project was Kim’s Deal. That’s our beagle Ruby is showing off.
Here’s a flat out layout.
We made six variations on the design including Miss Molly…..read more about it here.
and X Marks the Spot. Read more about it here.
We have plans to make the rest of the quilts we designed for the book. You’ll have to keep following the blog to catch them as we make them.
Thanks so much for stopping by on this last stop of the blog tour. Make sure you didn’t miss a stop because at each blog you have a chance to win a free copy of 75 Fun Fat-Quarter Quilts . A US winner will receive a hard copy; an international winner will receive an ebook. How awesome if that?!

I love using red and cream.
Blue and green in combination with neutrals is my favorite.
My favourite colour combination is hot pink and orange!
I am loving navy and white or cream xx
I don’t really have a favorite combo being a scrap quilter, it all goes. But agree with you – need that pop of red.
Your quilts are beautiful! I love the rich colors of the civil war reproductions so I usually use blue somewhere.
Thanks for the chance to win.

purple and light tan ~ thank you for so much fun ~ Kathleen ~ Lane Hill House
Love your quilts and tutorials and my favorite color is red. Adorable dog. Merry Christmas.
I love blue and a neutral. White, cream, scrappy – all look great with blue.
Believe it or not, I like black. It sets off any color I work with, so I’m saying BLACK
Lately, I have been using turquoise and grey.
I love scrappy, I like so many combos it’s hard to pick one, but if I did I would go with blue and brown.
I love lime green, but since my last granddaughter was born she has loved orange and has made me also made me love it also.
I would say that white on white (especially modern geometric white on white) and bright scrappy colors are the favorites of the moment for quilting. My second favorite is anything with a gray background. All the color variations of your quilt are amazing!
I love bold colors of red, blue, purple
Beautiful quilts! Anything with green and the more green the better.
I usually make scrappy quilts, but I always lean toward some red no matter what I may make. Thanks for the opportunity to win. Merry Christmas!
My favorite color combo is scrappy, leaning toward darks and beiges. I’m working on Bonnie Hunter’s Garden Party right now, so I’m trying to trend a little brighter. Thanks for the giveaway.
I LOVE BLUES AND CREAMS BUT HAVE BEIGN USING A LOT OF BROWNS AND CREAMS LATELY ENJOY YOUR BLOG. HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY
My favorite colors are blue and yellow. Thanks for inspiring!
Yellow and Grey
You really got several different looks with just one pattern! How cool!
I love to use lime green in my color combinations. It seems to brighten everything up and always looks good. Merry Christmas!
I am favoring bright primary colors when quilting. When I started quilting I favored blue and yellow but decided I needed to branch out to other colors.
I love your quilts. It’s so interesting how different each one becomes with just a little change. I love fall colors best – deep oranges and browns.
My favorite color is blue — might be because I have so much of it that needs to be used.
I have a lot of blue & brown colors that I like to make quilts with.
I love the crispness of red or blue and white. simple, yet striking.
I love to make scrap quilts where anything goes, but my personal favorite and usually the color of my clothing is any shade of blues, greens, and purples, especially combined together.
Blues and yellow/golds are my favorite color combinations – school colors. I read your blog first everyday – there’s always something to inform and/or entertain. I’l love to win a copy of your book. Hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas and enjoy a relaxing holiday.
golds and deep reds are my fav. A dark person I am for colors. Thanks Bunches!
My color choices change, let say with the seasons! I like primary colors for kids quilts. I am trying to get into scrappier quilts, I struggle with it, but I am trying! I would love to win! Merry Christmas!
Right now, my favorite combo is anything that clears fabric out of my sewing room. I have been scrapping it up for Bonnie’s mystery and trying to use out of my stash. I do have to say I try to throw a little purple in every quilt, but that’s only because it is my FAVORITE color!!!
I’m all color all the time, but I’ve been concentrating on blues for the last couple years. I’ve decided I want to use the older ones so I can buy new! I love your Country Girl Modern and I’d also love to win a copy of your new one.
My favorite is blue, with practically any other color! Thank you for the chance to win!!
I love seeing the variations of your pattern! Isn’t it amazing how different each one looks? As for my favorite color in a quilt, it is blue. Even when I make scrappy quilts, I find lots of blues in them. Maybe that’s because I have lots of blue leftovers from other quilts.
I love working with red, gray, white, and black. I like the different layouts you show, especially Miss Molly.
Fabric choices make all the difference…I guess that’s why it takes me so long to decide what fabrics to finally go with!
Love your quilts.
I love scrappy with all colors and all kinds of fabrics always with a splash of turquoise!
Anita
i love scrappy quilts. I think i’m more traditional until I see the variations you have done and I really like them and want to try them as well. Love what you do.
I love using teal :)
I like the combination of lime green with teal! All of my quilts are scrappy, though, so anything goes.
I like blue and green.
Love your Blog. I like Purple and gray!
My favorite combo is probably red and turquoise. But with scrappy quilt, it’s everything but the kitchen sink!
While my favorite color seems to be whatever I’m immersed in at the moment, anything from bright blue to deep purple on the spectrum seem to be what pull me to them at the fabric shop and the clothing store. Great book. Congratulations!
Love your Kim’s Deal quilt! My favorite color combination is green and purple.
Thanks for the chance. I like pinks and greens.
I love blues and neutrals. After taking classes from you and Kelli at Oelwein this summer,
I am expanding “my vision” with scrappy colors. Love all your quilts.
Merry Christmas to you and your family.
My favorite combo is blue and white.
Red, for me. Red white and blue. Red white and black. Red and scrap.
Your quilts are beautiful! I like all colors but guess I would go with black/pink combo.
I’m attracted to red, all forms of red – pinkish, orangish, bluish, purplish red but especially saturated red! If there’s a red quilt on the pattern picture, I’ll make it.
Blue, purple, and green…so peaceful.
I love all shades of Red—and mixing it with whatever the pattern and the quilt needs…..Thanks for the chance to win……
I love black/white with a splash of bright. Thanks for the giveaway.
Loving aqua and orange right now.
I love red and black, but have not found a quilt I like for those 2 colors. I am a beginner and only have done 2 quilts.
I think blues and purples are my fave.
I like all brights with black:)
I love scrappy quilts — and they must have some green and a splash of yellow.
My favorite combo is Red, White and Blue. I always love a scrappy quilt with lots of colors and variety.
I guess my favorite combo would be black and white or red and white or aqua and peach. I guess my taste change depending on the fabric I see that day.
Anything blue! From baby blue to navy I have in each room in my house something in the blue family.
I don’t have a favorite color so it’s not easy to pick color combinations based on that, but if I have to choose one I’d say grey with almost any other color especially yellow, red or aqua-ish colors. I love your quilts and look forward to making my own variations when I win the book, Ha!
I love anything with blue in it. I think it would be awesome to pair with tangerine or white or yellow. Blue goes with everything!
I usually do scrappy, but they all have a touch of either red or yellow to provide a little ” pop.”
I have to say my favorite color combination is the one I see in that first quilt you show…scrappy with some golds and browns! Adorable quilt model by the way :-)
I get a lot of blue scraps and have been making nine patches with muslin using 2″ cut squares for a quilt for a family member.
I love working with the black and white/ white and black prints and adding in one color such as red, yellow or lime green.
I love to use neutrals/beige’s and brown, because they are safe and easy for me to use. But I want to start using colors “outside of my box” and experiment and be bold with others colors!
My favorite color combo changes often! Lately I love royal blue, lime green and a bright true orange on a background of grey and/or white.
I LOVE scrap quilts!! I am most attracted to all shades of reds and blues. Love your blog.
I would love to win your book. I check your blog everyday and it has become part of my morning ritual.
My favorites are red and green – Christmas quilts. My living room is also red and green – to keep me in the Christmas mood, even when there is no snow on the ground.
I find that my color choices are always evolving. In other words, I like everything!!
I always seem to include some red in every quilt. But I also love orange.
I love anything red/white/blue. Your quilts are great, of course.
Red is my all time favorite color, but lately I have been using a lot of teal with it & love that combination.
Blue and white, or purple and white are my favorites.
I’m an old patriot so I love Red, White and Blue but I recently completed a red and white quilt for my mom who LOVES red.
I love the teals, greens and Browns together but also anything scrappy. Love to see what colours you put together, they are usually great finished.
My favorite color is red with just about anything else.
my favorite color is purple and I love it with grey, but lately I’ve been in a teal/grey mood.
My favorite colors in quilts have changed over the years. I love scrappy quilts now with
more brights included. Thanks for the chance to win.
It’s so hard to pick, but my current favorite combo would have to be red, white and blue.
I love red too, but lately raspberry has been the color of choice for me, I’ve mixed it with a mid green. And someday I’ll actually finish sewing that quilt for myself, but the holidays are here and my quilt pieces are in a drawer while I sew gifts.
I love fall colors… oranges, greens, browns, golds with small bits of reds, purples & blues. Thanks for sponsoring the giveaway! I love reading your blog posts each day. It’s the BEST little pick me up!
I love blue, so tend to put that in a lot of my quilts, but green sneaks in there a lot too. Beautiful color combos in your quilts. Thanks for sharing!
I love red and white quilts and have made several now. Thanks for sharing your lives with us on the blog and all the best for the new year.
I like teal and yellow (and pink and brown :-)
Hi Jo and Kelli (and Ruby)……..Turquoise and Coral.
Thank you so much.
Anything with blue and I love it.
Today I like red and aqua together.
I mostly make scrappy quilts but also love autumn colors and red white and blue.
Pink and navy blue is really nice, also yellow and blue-can you tell I like blue?!
It certainly depends on who or what I’m making a quilt for, but if it’s for myself, I prefer traditional (Civil War) colors, although not always traditional prints.
I’ve always liked blue and green together. I use it alot on charity quilts.
Right now I’m working in greys and black (happy- I know!)- but usually anything with yellow is good with me!
I always seems to like purple and turquoise.
I prefer Civil War, especially pink and brown.
