Over the course of two days, I had 8 quilting ebooks sent to me by companies hoping that I might review them….I checked them over and found one that I really liked from Martingale…. Oh, Scrap! by Lissa Alexander.
First of all check out the cover quilt! I think this might be one of the next baby quilts I make. I really like it.
You might remember that last year at Christmas time I made my oldest two childcare kiddos a quilt. Well…there are more kiddos so more more quilts need to be made. The book has several that I’d consider…. I love the pink one shown below…. but I think I’d also like it in Civil War prints and keep it for me!!! Notice it’s designed WITHOUT in set seams….What’s not to love about that?
This I would LOVE to make. What a scrap buster!! This would be a good candidate for the kiddos.
This one might look familiar to you…I am almost positive it was in American Patchwork and Quilting a couple years ago. It’s doing double duty.
I’m a sucker for stars…a sucker for patriotic…and sucker for scrap…SO of course I loved this quilt!! Don’t you?
I loved it so much that I stopped and read through all of the directions. The quilt is 80″ x 80″…the block is 24″….so that’s an odd size for me to keep….but, maybe it could be a TV watching quilt….oh, I love it!
The photography in the book is super cute…Check out the little boy and the watering can. He’s showing off a great scrap buster quilt!
That’s the only photos I’m going to tease you with…there are 6 more quilts featured in the book!
All in all, I really like the book and I want one for my personal quilting library. The book is available here on Martingale’s website or here on Amazon. (I did look and it doesn’t appear that Lissa is selling them on via her blog.) If you didn’t know Lissa, the author, is Moda Lissa. I’m off to get a copy for myself….I really do like the projects and can easily see me making several of them.
Congrats to Lissa and to Martingale on an awesome book.
