You might remember me telling about our antiquing adventure and all the axes we found for our son Buck who collects axes. Â We I did manage to find one thing at the show that I was interested in…This basket.
The basket is actually pretty big. Â I measured…it’s 15″ x 15″. Â I have a basket and container fetish.
Although the tag on this says $7. Â I only paid $6.
I have a smaller basket that’s a similar style. Â It is something that belonged to my grandpa.
This basket needed some TLC but nothing serious…see??The top had some water marks on it.
Over all it looked kind of dirty.
I liberally squirted it with Orange Glo Wood Furniture 2-in-1 Cleaner.  Using a spray really gets in between the woven reeds of the basket.  After spraying it I didn’t wipe it off right away.  Instead I let it sit for about 10 minutes and soak in.
After that, I wiped it down. Â Can you believe the difference? Â Just a few minutes of time and a little patience and “presto chango”-it looks wonderful.
In a week or so I’ll spray in with the Orange Glo Wood Furniture 2-in-1 Cleaner again.  It will look even better.
I’m not sure where this basket is going to end up. Â If I find a home for it in the house I’ll keep it but if not, I’ll take it to the antique show in Clear Lake, Iowa the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. Â Hubby got a booth and plans to be selling a few things….that will be interesting.
I’ll be looking for you in Clear Lake, Jo!
Thanks for sharing this tip. My baskets could use a good cleaning. It is also hard for me to pass up a pretty basket
