I always love Blogger’s Quilt Festival. That’s when Amy over at Amy’s Creative Side hosts the best quilt show on line EVER. If you haven’t been hop over there.
I scrolled through the archives for my favorite quilt from the last 6 months that I finished up and Lazy Sunday is the winner. This was a mystery quilt that was featured in Quiltmaker magazine.
Hubby really likes this one. I am not sure why except that the colors are darker. Even after pointing out to him that there was green in the quilt (his least favorite color), he said, “Ya, but I not so much.”
I used Hobbs 80/20 which is my favorite batting these days. As you can see, Ruby isn’t being quite as cooperative as usual.
My backing was pretty bland. I was trying to use up fabric I had. Both pieces are backing left overs from previous projects. I had on extra block so that made it’s way into the backing too. You can see my Baptist Fan design in the quilting.
I don’t know what was distracting our dog Ruby..but oh, she just wasn’t herself…

I love baptist fan for a quilting design. Is yours freehand or do you use a pattern?
Good luck Jo – this is a gorgeous quilt! Thanks for sharing it again :*)
I love your variation of the colorway of this quilt.
Lovely work – great colour choices!
Ruby is my favorite part! But the quilt is gorgeous, too.
Oh I love this quilt. Had to laugh while reading your post. Hubby doesn’t like green. I found out the same thing when I painted our bedroom green. First I had heard any talk of a non green lover! I am always a big hesitant to do mystery quilts till they are done and I can plan my colors. Wish I had seen this one. I do love it!
