Back in December I had talked to the gals at Fat Quarter Shop. They know we love working with them and asked if we’d be interested in making a Single Wedding Ring block and sharing it with all of you. For us, as you know the timing wasn’t the best with me moving and Kelli moving too but we said sure. (We have a hard time saying no to anything!) Anyway time passed and we both moved then a day before the tentative date I panicked and realized we’d forgot. Well Kelli was the one who at least had a spot to sew even if she didn’t have her fabric unpacked yet. So with the awesome directions from Fat Quarter Shop, she whipped up a block in no time. (find your own instructions by following the link)
This is her version of the block. The Single Wedding Ring block is such a classic block. That has been long loved by many quilters.
After she was finished she remembered that this was the block that she used to make this quilt of hers only she had changed up the colors a bit.
This is a block that no matter how you make it by changing up the colors, making it scrappy or adding modern fabrics a quilter just can’t go wrong.
As part of the Classic and Vintage Series, Kimberly made a new video showing you how to make your very own block.
The quilt she put together is so cute. I love the fresh colors. If you want to purchase the pattern she’s making in the video you can find that here and if you are interested in purchasing one of their kits to make the quilt you can find that here.
Best yet..there are lots of others joining in on this blog hop. Check out the Jolly Jabber for that information.
Have fun checking the video and pattern it’s a good one whether you are new to quilting or a seasoned pro…and have fun making your own Single Wedding Ring block.
