Hello my fellow quilt-alongers. It’s that time again–the first Wednesday of the month. This month, we will be making block number 4–Baker’s Dozen Variation. When making the block this month, I chose the fabric, cut the pieces, and sewed my block. When starching my block (it was a bit wavy because of the bias cut triangles) I realized that some of the batiks I had chosen for the background part of the star block looked like they were brown (left side) while others look like they were blue (right side). The joy of batiks I guess!
Here is my rendition of block 4–Baker’s Dozen Variation–I am using Moda’s fabric line “Paint Box Batiks”. You can find the line in fabric stores now. I have loved the fabrics.
Here is Barb K’s block done in blues. I love how Barb fussy cut the center block.
This is Judy’s block. The darker corner triangles make this block look very sharp.
Annie’s block is up next. The cheddar provides a great framing effect.
Kristy’s block is up next. The blues and browns are great together.
If you haven’t started making any blocks yet or might be a little late in getting your block for the month finished, no worries! You can always get caught up and send us your blocks to be shown for next month. You can check out the prizes here. We are having our family Easter this weekend, so look for the prize winner announcement early next week. Happy Sewing!
