Halloween Quilt Update and Fleece Anyone??

I got an email from blog reader Gloria.  She said that the fabric that I said I used for the Halloween Hoopla quilt wasn’t available.  Hmm.  I was originally told it would be out earlier in the year.

Apparently, it was another thing that was changed due to Covid.  This is the fabric to be looking for if you want the same background or backing fabric that I used.  The top left corner is the background fabric that I used.

Midnight Magic II Yardage | April Rosenthal for Moda Fabrics
The top fifth from the left was the backing fabric I used.

I checked with Fat Quarter Shop.  They list that this fabric is coming in August.

Hancocks in Paducah lists it as arriving in June.  Well, that has already passed.

I checked Green Fairy Quilts.  It says preorder May 2021.

I checked Missouri Star.  They don’t have it listed.

Well…that’s all I know.  I’m guessing it’s a Covid delay.  If it were me and I wanted those exact fabrics I would put myself on a notification list at Fat Quarter Shop.  They will email you when the fabric comes in.

On another note:
Is any charity group in need of fleece?  I have Elane (Here is her email address:  elaineog@aol.com) who has a bunch of fleece she would like to donate to a person or group that creates quilts for charities.  It would be especially great if the group was in the Albany NY area and could pick it up or a group that could help with postage.  Please contact Elane if you are interested.

I tried looking in Fabric.com for your fabric. They have lots of Halloween fabs but not that group. They have black and white polka dots and multi colored. But not sure it those will work for someone making your quilt.
Wish I could get the fleece but I’m heading to Tx. That would have been great for the scarfs I make as giveaways to homeless and children. Don’t know how much postage would cost. My daughter is still at home in Norwich NY. (62 Mitchell Street) 13815
    Bad timing on my part.
Will keep searching for your Midnight Magic 2.
    Take care God Bless

Ever since I saw your Halloween quilt last February I have been waiting patiently for it to be published! Way back when I bought A LOT of brightly colored Halloween fabric and fast forward to what was I thinking?! Now it’s going to be perfect for that quilt. I have the background fabric on preorder through Fort Worth Quilt Studio and it’s scheduled to arrive in September (the line was originally supposed to be released in April). The magazine directions are crazy:( Thank you so much for your video on strip piecing the block centers and answering other questions regarding its construction. I absolutely LOVE the Easy Angle ruler and bought all 3 sizes (there was also a 10″) back in the day.

Shabby Fabrics will be getting it. You can put yourself on a contact list. They also list it as coming available in August. I have ordered from them before with success. Hope this was helpful.

I received my American Patchwork & Quilting today. I love your beautiful Halloween quilt.
This is not quilting related, but how is Karl feeling?

Sorry to hear that readers are having trouble sourcing the fabric you used, Jo. Not a problem for me, as I rarely use the same fabric that a designer has used. I did find the magazine at my local grocery store earlier this week, so I’m happy! Thanks for letting us know that the issue had hit the newsstands.
