Friday Finish: Quiltmaker- Here we are!!

The July-August  Quiltmaker issue arrived last Thursday.  It’s an issue my daughter Kelli and I have long been anticipating.

That’s because we have a quilt featured in the magazine!!  How cool is that?  See..there are Kelli and I and the beagles.

Want to see the quilt??

The quilt is called “Golden Sunset”.  The quilt is completely and totally scrappy.

Back in the fall, Kelli and I submitted this block and quilt design as part of Quiltmaker’s 100 block magazine.  That’s when Carolyn from Quiltmaker contacted us and asked if we would be willing to have our quilt featured in the July/August issue of Quiltmaker.  We were shocked and excited all at once.

The original block was Kelli’s design.  She gave it to me and I designed the quilt.  Kelli sewed it and then I quilted and bound it.  We really work as a good team!

I love the cheddars and blues…it really does look like a golden sunset, doesn’t it?

Quiltmaker took our block and enlarged it to make a baby quilt.  I think it looks like a great baby quilt and I want to make one.

i can’t wait to see that issue. i love the shots of your quilt, especially the close-ups because..surprize, surprize, i have one of those background fabrics in my stash too! So glad that the editors of Quiltmaker spotted your quilt block and wanted to feature it as a whole quilt. Job well done indeed! congratulations to both of you.
