No this isn’t an Infommercial…

Over the weekend I made my second batch of sweet pickle relish.  It was a new recipe I had never tried before and loved it, so I had to make another batch.

I didn’t have a lot of time but no need to worry, I have a Kitchen Plus 2000!  It makes chopped veggies a breeze…no joke it does.  Within an hour I had this whole batch of cucumbers and onions chopped up and not a tear was shed over the onions.

I am not one to completely endorse a product unless I really think it’s wonderful but honestly, the Kitchen Plus 2000 is well worth the $18.  I ordered mine off Amazon last year as a birthday present to myself.  I can’t wait for my tomatoes to ripen so I can make salsa with it.  I love it, I love it, I love I do!!

I filled it with cucumbers and in 24 turns of the handle I had this!

WOW!  What a dream….at least in the world of a person who cans sweet pickle relish….

My borther Jay told me about this little gem and I can’t thank him enough for telling me….and so ends this infommercial helpful hint blog entry.

My “Baby Girl” Sings at the County Fair!

Last night our local radio station sponsored a musical event at the county fair.  Jeni Grouws, an area DJ/singer, organized the event holding tryouts to find talented singers and musicians.  Several weeks ago, our daughter Kalissa tried out and was selected to sing.

About 15 minutes before the performance the storm clouds rolled in complete with thunder and lightning.

They delayed the show until most of the storm passed then one by one performers came out to sing until it was time for Kalissa.

Here is my baby girl, Kalissa, singing Sugarland’s hit song, “Baby Girl”.  I know it’s bragging if I say she did a great job and etiquette tells us we aren’t suppose to brag…but I am ignoring etiquette and I am going to brag.  She did a great job!

Merrily I Quilt Along….

quiltalong

Merrily I quilt along, quilt along, quilt along.  Merrily I quilt along….
Over the last month or so I have been busy quilting along with Amanda Jean from Crazy Mom Quilts.  It has been really fun and I encourage anyone who likes quilting to try a quilt along.  Each day participants are asked to make one nine patch block.  We are on day 58 but I confess, I worked ahead and have all 70 blocks finished.

I  looked at all the wonderful photos of everyone’s projects and longed to purchase some bright “springish” looking fabric but I didn’t cave in to the pressure and used my reproduction fabrics scraps instead.  Today,  I am trying to figure out which fabric in my stash to use for sashing….

This quilt along has been SO much fun.  I would  really like to try another one… It’s kind of addicting…..  Amanda Jean has sponsored a couple of them.  I think I might go back and try one from her previous posts.  Old Red Barn is sponsoring one too!  I told you this is kind of addicting.

Just out of curiousity…can a person have too many quilting projects going at once…Nah, I didn’t think so.
