About that Barn and My Other Goodies

You all might remember that I left you in the middle of my story about the barn I bought at the vintage store in Sumner, Iowa.

I know lots of you were upset that I didn’t show pictures of the barn.  There’s a reason I didn’t do that.  You see when I bought the barn…I bought it straight out of the window.  I saw what the outside was like but I didn’t really see it up close.  I really didn’t get to touch it and feel it so the next day when I went back to get it, it was so fun seeing it all over again.

So..here is the barn…

Goodwill Find: Old Sewing Stand

I think this is going to be a fun blog post.  I know I sure had fun exploring.  Here’s the story:

I already told you that on Sunday I went to get my Covid shot.  I already told you that when I was in town I stopped at Goodwill.  I already told you that I found this…

It is an old sewing basket/stand.  I saw it and I have several of these already.  I didn’t need another.  I don’t even know if I have a place for one.  Ah…but what’s a girl to do when it’s only $10??

Then I opened it up and immediately, I knew I wanted to buy it.

The stand was stuffed to the brim with sewing treasures.  Here’s what I found… …

That Junk Sale

You might remember me telling you about a junk sale I always go to.  There is a pair of sisters who host a junk sale at their place a couple of times a year.  You might remember me redoing my sewing room with a few pieces of “junk” I bought from them.  If you missed my sewing room tour, you can find that HERE.

This dresser houses my batik fabrics.  I painted this dresser and Karl cleaned the handles.

The piece hanging on the wall I bought from them and Craig helped me hang it.

This metal cabinet in the corner also came from one of their sales.

Prices are reasonable at the sale, it’s close and I’ve never regretted going so when I see they have a sale coming up, I always try to go.

I’ll give you a little preview of the pictures I saw on their Facebook page promoting the sale… …

Vintage Sale…

Remember back in April I was at the vintage sale when Kelli called me and told me her water broke.  Well, I never showed you the goodies I got or told you about the sale so here, one month later, (Yep the boys are a month old as of today) I’m here to tell you about the sale.

I bought this magazine rack.

My idea is to keep my cross stitch projects in there like this…

I’m a sucker for old vintage… …
