Wave Runner Baby Quilt

Last weekend my niece had a little baby girl….To celebrate her arrival I spent the weekend making her a baby quilt.  I used the pattern I found at Bumble Beans’ Quilt A-long.  It’s really a great quilt a-long and even has a video tutorial which I found was very helpful.
WaveRunner-1
This was a VERY fun quilt to make.  It’s very freeing and MUCH easier than it looks.  If you are a person who hates cutting out quilts, this quilt is for you!  I used a large floral print for the backing.
WaveRunner-2
When I quilted it, I used a wavy flame design.  It was a good choice.  I am working on adding more designs to my repoiritor and this was a perfect quilt to try the flame design on.
WaveRunner-3
I made mine five blocks by five blocks.  After washing, it ended up 45″ x 45″.
I would definitely make this quilt again…..
That makes one item checked off my Joy in the New Year Challenge.  Only eight more items to finish!

I don’t know if I understand how this works, but I definitely like it! This quilt has a great “mod” look that would work well with my Kona Bay cotton addiction. The machine quilting really sets it off.

I picked the colors from the backing fabric….I wanted it to be cute for a baby girl but not too “babyish” so it can grow with her.

Dear Author http://www.joscountryjunction.com !
I think, that you commit an error. I can defend the position. Write to me in PM, we will discuss.

This was a perfect design for a baby/grow up with quilt. I am
really drawn to your colors you chose…..the back is great….I can’t seem to come up with a good fabric for the back of mine yet!
I am seriously considering doing another in the future too!!

Thanks….I chose the colors just because of the backing fabric. Sometimes I think it’s easier to do that as it keeps me a bit more focused. I hope to make another one day…it was lots of fun.
